This season, like any first season sets up or introduces the characters (Twilight Sparkle the Wise, Rainbow Dash the Courageous, Fluttershy the Kind, Rarity the Beauty Queen, Applejack the Strong, Pinkie Pie the Funny and of course Spike the Assistant to All) and their world - whether it be Equestria as a whole or Ponyville.  The opener goes off with a bang and presents interesting notions of what is a justified punishment for a crime and so much more.

I agree. I also love "Art of the Dress",  a Rarity classic!!! :)

Well I don't know my favorite episode but, Who else likes rainbow dash, Pinkie Pie, and Apple Jack overall!?
