Lil' Rhody

Seriously??? No Mythical Beasties posting from RHODE ISLAND yet? (Although to be fair, I got bored after about the 8th page of looking for it) (Also, smallest state blues).

So what's so great about Rhode Island?  Well, as a person who was born here and has lived here all *hmmphclmph* years, I'd be happy to tell you!

1. Ocean State - beaches? we've got 'em.

2. Smallest State, Longest Name. - that's right, we've shortened it so you can point to us on the map and put "R.I."  The full name is "The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations"

3. Del's - Enough said.

4. Our accent. - we've groomed it so we sound like we could possibly be from boston, maybe new york.  who the heck knows.

5. Bubblah - (psst. this is what we call a water fountain)

6. Size - got 45 minutes?  you can get from one end of the state to the other.  theoretically. if you know the back roads.  and there's no staties around.

7. Autocrat - trust me on this.  it's our state drink.

8. Founders -  Roger Williams, who got kicked out of Mass. and then kicked it with the Narragansett and Pequot tribes; and Anne Hutchinson et. al. who founded the Aquidneck Island area (AKA Newport plus some other places you probably have not heard of)

9. Buddy Cianci and his famous Marinara

10. Quahogs, stuffies, chowdah, Awful awfuls, Brickley's etc. etc. can you tell I'm hungry?

Of course, this is not an exhaustive list.  I just wanted to make my case for Lik' Rhody and hope that maybe someday some mythical beasts will wander into my home state and enjoy!
