The Colts, corn, and David Letterman. Woo.

What part of Indiana are ya from? Love it/hate it?

I'm from Princeton. It's in southwest Indiana - very close to the Illinois and Kentucky borders. Seriously, all we have down here in southwest Indiana are farms. Namely corn fields.

Oh, but, yeah...Indiana!...Yay.

Indiana represent!!!

Nikki... I just read your comment in the Indiana group like yesterday... yes, I am in Terre Haute, which would make us neighbors!!

I am originally from the Fort Wayne area. Don't worry. All we have in Northeastern Indiana is.... farms!!!! LOTS of cornfields up there, too!! :)
OOO BTW you should change the name of this forum to "Indiana: Crossroads of America" since everyone else has their motto!!!
Howdy neighbor! I heard Danny Glover was in Terre Haute last week picketing at Bemis - where my husband worked before I dragged him to Princeton. That's pretty cool!

Also, the title has hereby officially been changed. :)

I am from Kokomo, IN. Howard County is full of farms as well, but don't forget in Monticello there is a theme park, proving once again there is more then corn in Indiana. The theme park is of course; Indiana Beach.

Just thought I would throw that out there...I Love Indiana it is my Home.

Love the title of the thread.
Just wanted to give a prideful yell about one of the songs/video of the Great American road trip...the World's Largest. Both the Statue and the egg are in Indiana...I thought that it was coolest thing when I saw the video and immediately said, out loud, I have seen that statue and then I said I have touched that egg.

Just saying.
Really? You mean the fiberglass man wearing blue clothes AND the 3,000 lb egg that sits motionless on the edge of a bank parking lot are BOTH located in Indiana? AND they are the first two world's biggest items featured in that song? I am officially jealous of my Indiana neighbors now! I MUST mosey over from Iowa someday to visit them, I would get a kick out of that! I've been to Indiana, it was lovely and looks a lot like my Iowa--lots of corn.

Ooh, and don't forget Jim Gaffigan, my favorite comedian is from Indiana. Hot pockets!!! :o)
I had no idea those were in Indiana. Where in Indiana are they?

Somewhere between Princeton and Terre Haute, there's a giant peach. It makes my husband and I laugh every time we pass it because there's a sign that just casually states, "Big Peach Over There." lol

Oh, and don't forget Larry Bird!!!

And FOR REAL, those World's Largests are in IN????? Wow...

And Holiday World!! Another great theme park in Santa Claus, IN... I think it has one of the top roller coasters in the world. I've never been there, but I have lots of college classmates who work there during the summers.

Speaking of corn... I've noticed that northeastern corn is kinda iffy this year. One side of the road will have nice, tall corn, and the other side will be really short (I'm 5'2'' and I'm sure I can walk through it and clear the top of my head pretty well), or it will have varying heights. However, southern IN corn is doing pretty well.

And, yes, I love Indiana as well... the middle-western side (US 41) of Indiana and Brown county are both some of the prettiest places to drive through!
Holiday World! How could I forget to mention that? We live about an hour west of there. We love us some Holiday World. Free unlimited soft drinks and sunscreen! I love their, "Yes, we're dorky!" commercials they play on the radio. :D

Hello, Hoosiers!! I spent most of my life growing up in Kimmell, IN, which is about 45 min. north of Fort Wayne, in Noble County. I've recently moved to Maryland, though :(

Things I love about Indiana include: the Children's Museum in Indy, the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, Science Central in Fort Wayne, and the movie Hoosiers.

Plus, can't forget the Indy 500, even though I'm indifferent to it.
YESSSSS!!!! Science Central!!!! We totally took field trips to there in elementary school!!! Those trips were always a treat!!! (I grew up in Columbia City -- 1/2 hour west of Fort Wayne -- now back there for student teaching) And the Ft Wayne Children's Zoo is stinking cool. I almost like it better than the Indy Zoo. I haven't been there for quite some time, but I will have to make a visit sometime soon... those memories are also equally great. I remember trick or treating there once.

Hello fellow Hoosiers!

I was born and raised in Michigan City, IN...which is about an hour away from Chicago. A few cool things we have around here are the beach, Lake Michigan, and the Blue Chip Casino.

I go to college at Ball State University in Muncie, IN...which is where David Letterman went to college. :) Ooh! Fun fact, our mascot is the Cardinal, which is also the State Bird. GO CARDS!! :)
