Well, I ordered my lip balm and who would have guessed it's already on back order! ;) Then I went on over to Beard and Lady and ordered a bottle of lady's hair oil. I was going to get some of Rhett's beard oil for fun, but I plan on using the lip balm so I would end up breaking up the duo, no beard for the beard oil. Just from my short tweet conversations with Lacey Hendrix, she seems like a really sweet person. I really hope this project works out for them. The "Our Story" on their website is adorable.

I was surprised to find that Beard and Lady is based in High Point, NC, when I looked them up. The "About Us" says they reached out to Rhett and Link...I wonder if that means they go way back with them from their North Carolina days, or B&L just knew R&L have NC ties and decided to reach out.

When Rhett says, "I was at home . . ." he's probably talking about back at the old homestead - - -Mom & Dad McLaughlin's place in North Carolina. I know that when we lived 10+ years in Georgia or even today going on 10 years in Texas, we never say we're going to Louisiana to visit family.

We always refer to that trip as "going home"

Although he says he had bought the beard oil he used that night over the internet, he probably reached out to friends and folks he knew when it came time to go into production with some branded product.

Excerpt from "OUR STORY" . . . (bold & underscore added for emphasis)

We luvva the beard and we luvva the ladies. We are a rural private label company located on 8 acres just outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. We sell these lovely cosmetic products because we can't live off of free chips and salsa any longer. We started working as a husband and wife team after suggesting to our friends at Rhett and Link they needed a beard oil and lip balm.

Ahh, right...that's what I get for only doing a little of my own research before I watch the actual episode(s), haha. (Shh, don't tell.)

Observant MBs had noticed the beard oil and chapstick go live in the store at the beginning of this week before being announced, and I saw Beard and Lady advertising it on Twitter as well, so I'm too smart for my own good and didn't think I'd need to watch the actual announcement before spouting things off. ;)

Their site just launched the beginning of October, they have very few products available right now. They have a YouTube channel with no videos and hilariously enough, I was their first subscriber. Lacey said they do intend on posting videos eventually. Haha!
