“Hipster wannabes get facial hair transplants,” screams the New York Post headline, tagging Brooklyn as Beard Central, showing a guy with a beard who appears to weigh ten pounds, has string beans for arms, and likely couldn’t lift a basketball over his head.

The article goes on to tag beards as a “masculine identifier,” which is all well and good if you think masculinity is good. The problem, though, is that modern masculinity seems to begin and end at the beard. In nearly every other context, the masculinity is derided, mocked, degraded, and discouraged. It’s almost like a vestigial token of a society that once valued masculine character traits in men, whereas nowadays only women get applauded for displaying masculine character traits.

What say you? Are beards a booby prize for a society that, by and large, no longer allows boys to be boys?

This is ridiculous and stupid I can't believe people would care if a man or anyone else for that matter has a beard!!!
It makes me think people are just jealous of the masculinity that comes with a awesome face caterpillar.

i am currently saving up for a beard transplant. I can't decide if i should shave it like tony stark or not....

I learned wayyyyyyyyyy more about Rhett's legs and Link's grooming habits than I needed to know. O.o
