The fact that Rhett and Link generally don't use profanity in their "internetainment" and keep it pretty clean is one reason I became such a fan of their work.

I feel that curse words, in entertainment and especially on the internet, is WAY overused.  If you are an entertainer, or especially a writer, I feel that use of such words shows a lack of ability in communicating  effectively and especially creatively.

When you look closely at movies today you will often find films with well over 100 f-bombs in them. I feel this really shows that many writers today do not know how to write dialog  with originality, falling  back on shock-value to hide the fact.

In my family such words were never used, even by my parents, and I feel I was better off for it. If you disagree with what I say that is your prerogative, but try to do so in an original manner. Even insults are more interesting, and often funny, when delivered in a witty yet clean way.

(Not that I expect the discussion to get too rough, the folks of this community seem rather laid-back compared to many other sites. Maybe Rhett and Links brand of entertainment attracts a certain type of person.)

I never even realized R&L were "clean comedians" until someone on their live Kast mentioned it to them. I just knew they were funny. But I really appreciate it! My brother is a clean comedian and it's a hard thing to be successful at.

I think there's a time and place for curse words. As a writer, it can show what kind of person that person is. But I agree! Too much shows a lack in creativity and trying too hard.
