 Stirring Up Hornets’ Nests

Since the earliest recorded human history, insects have been consumed as food in many parts of the world. Some Pacific island natives and Africans still consider insects staple foods. In China, widespread insect consumption has drifted into history. However, some not only eat wild hornets, but raise them as food. For centuries, the Lisu people, who live deep in mountains of southwestern China’s Sichuan Province, have retained the tradition of hunting wild hornets.
