What do you think of Capaldi?

I am not gonna rate him until I see 5 of his episodes, but from what I see, he is a great actor and will be a great Doctor. He fits so much to be The Doctor. Also Moffat said that his Doctor will be fierce.

Steven Moffat offers a few intriguing titbits on Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine (#464). Here’s some highlights:

Moffat is pretty certain Capaldi will keep his native Scottish accent for the role
At the moment, they’ve only discussed Twelve’s costume in the lightest terms
Moffat wanted to flip the switch the other way after having two youthful and accessible Doctors in a row
He’s going to be an older, trickier and fiercer Doctor
“Just as Clara’s learning to have a proper old crush on him, suddenly he’s Malcolm Tucker!”
Moffat thinks it’ll be fun seeing Clara cope with the Doctor being completely different…
…”I think the fun story will be – and we have the opportunity here – is this is what regeneration can do to you. He can be very, very different.”
“People really love Jenna, so we make the Doctor quite difficult…”
…Moffat likens the situation to Tom Baker’s first season: “He’s really quite difficult to take at the beginning, and you’re very grateful that Sarah and the Brigadier are there to reassure you.”

I too wont make any assumptions about peter till we see him act. I know that whatever they do with his script or costume will be lovely. Lets just hope he doesnt turn into the strict old grandpa the first doctor was.

I don't know, I'm not too happy about him, considering they were considering women and african american people. (I also kind of wanted to somehow be chosen)

I highly doubt Doctor 12 was ever going to be Black British. Less than 2% of the entire UK are of African Heritage, I'm almost positive 75% or more of that less than two percent are actors.

As for them considering women, I don't know if they were or why they didn't. I do have a theory on why they didn't, but I doubt it's correct.

After seeing series 8, I like him a lot! Even though he is older, it feels really fresh. I love that they removed the romantic interest from him, as it allows his character to develop independent of that, and after the relationships with Nine-Ten/Rose and Eleven/River & sorta Clara, it's a refreshing change of pace. I also love the tension between the Doctor and Clara. We haven't seen too much of that in the past, and as a more prominent part of the story line, it allowed them to explore a different layer and dynamic within the Doctor-companion relationship.

I love that he just doesn't care. Shut up, shut up, shuttity up up up! Attack eyebrows. I'm lovin the Scotsman!

I actually didn't like him at first, he was a bit too grumpy for me, but he has reeeeally grown on me. He seems happier, he's not really "against the hugging" anymore, cracking more jokes and playing the GUITAR. I love it. He's still got the sass, but it's not the super angry "she cares so I don't have to" kind. It's the awesome kind, the kind that Nine had. And Nine is my favorite:)

I actually really like Capaldi I think his acting is great and the way he has portrayed his feelings in series 9 is beautiful, however Steven's writing could be better

In my perusal opinion I think he is a wonderful doctor, he might even be one of my favorites. The reason being because h is both funny and serious at the same time.
