Is it going to be great?  Is Disney missing the mark?  Is the entire idea stupid?  Am I stupid for bringing it up?  You tell me ...

Personally, I didn't particularly like the movie...but the concept images look lovely, and the movie was famed for it's "stellar" graphics so it is logical that they would attempt to demonstrate this in the world itself. Given that, I would put it on the to do list for the trip. It will be interesting to see what it will include however.

I'm just not sure, assuming its a part of the magic kingdom, its taking away from the new fantasyland as well. It doesnt make sense to base it off one movie. They are JUST making a movie about tomorrowland. They should add an avatar ride at epcot maybe, or even in tomorrowland. The movie was not exactly, well, meant for disney anyway.

I am not for the avatar land either for a number of reasons.

First off it is a reactionary measure and by the time the land opens the movie will be long forgotten.

Second reason is that I do not feel that it reaches their entire audience, sure some adults may like it but most kids are not going to care.

Third, I simply find James Cameron repellant.

Fourth, I think it is going to open up doors that shouldn't be opened like maybe now Universal will decide to open up a Michael Bay area ... oh the horror.

Fifth it seems like a desperate move to try and save a park that is costs a lot of money to operate but doesn't make a lot of money.  I think if they would have stuck with the mythical creatures land that they were initially going to do it would have been a whole lot more fun.  It could have gone as far as been a year long renaissance fair done with a Disney styling and budget; that would have been amazing.
