Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Hi,

I make a variety of handmade items. I love to work with my hands and use my creativity. Sculpture and watercolor are my favorite mediums to work with. I just finished a watercolor project with a R & L theme, but right now it's secret. Shhh!

I made a series of watercolors for a children's storybook and then made some sculptures of my characters from the watercolors. I also make sculptural pins, pens, and magnets at my Etsy store. Another current project is my line of UpCycled sculptures made with burned out light bulbs and empty bottles.

I love to do a variety of crafts and there's always some new craft/project I'd like to try. Crafts are so much fun. What craft(s) do you enjoy doing?

Well like Sorka, my roots are in stitching. I spent many childhood hours doing cross stitch projects and embroidery. I love making embroidery flour sack towel sets! My current sewing project is making "Memory Bears" which are bears made from the clothing of a loved one. And I dabble in other mixed media. I made this "magnet" for a fellow fe-mell a while ago and sent it to her. And then I made one for Rhett and Link and they featured it on their Kast, tee hee! I also make Christmas decorations (wreaths, lighted blocks), turkeys for Thanksgiving, and tons of other stuff. Here's some pictures:

Tammy,

Thanks for sharing the pics! I like your magnet and your bears. That's a great idea for making the bears from the clothing of a loved one. :) How many bears have you made? That's kool that your magnet made it to a Kast. How long ago was it on the Kast?

Thanks Christine! I've made around 50 bears, last I've counted. The Kast that featured my R&L magnet was the Patrick Swayze Tribute Kast. One of my favorites not only for that but for their awesome performance of "Time of my Life." :o)

Tammy,

Wow! That's a lotta bears. :)

I watched the Kast from your link and saw your magnet. That was a great Kast and the Swayze tribute song was awesome and they performed it twice. Thanks for sharing that link.

Tammy, those Memory Bears are so cute! Do you have a pattern you use for them? I love how the original shirt collar is the bears' collar. Cute, cute, cute!
Oh, thanks Nikki! Yep, I used one purchased pattern and copied it onto clear acetate so that I can trace around it while seeing the fabric on the other side. The collar idea was mine. I'm going to switch up the heart tags and make them out of felt instead and do a little blanket stitch and maybe a litte embroidery on them.
