Interesting Courses

Most of the time we have to take typical courses and stuff that apply to our futures, but every so often you run into some off the wall classes.

Like last semester, as a theology credit I took a course on Medieval Women Mystics. I learned tons about mystics and I learned more about Christianity from it than I did from the intro to theology course I took the previous semester.
This semester I am going to be taking a class about heavy metal music and culture. It is being joint taught by a history and psychology professor.

So what else have y'all seen or taken that isn't a typical course?

Sounds like some cool stuff, especially that sociology one.

Yay music majors! Many of my friends are music majors and I played the bassoon from 6th grade all the way through high school.

I took a class on identity and sexuality it was awesome we learned about everything from transexuals, to how women are portrayed in the media, then most recently i took a film genre class in which we watched movies about drugs and alcohol all semester haha, this semester i'm taking a japanese cinema class, we literally get to watch movies made in japan lol

those classes we pretty awesome, thank god for electves :) i'm an art major with a focus in jewelry and metalsmithing and photography, and i'm also an art history minor :)

I took a women's studies course just out of curiosity and because of it i am now a minor! They are such amazing informing classes and women- you would be sooo surprised to find out a lot of this information. I have taken What is feminism?, Sex, class, and race (sex being sex, not gender which was an amazing class!) and now i am in the sexual politics of work, where we really just discuss how awful and discriminating the labor force is. Don't know its awful? you should take this course if they have it at your school

I got to take a floral design class last semester, I'm taking Residential Landscape Design this semester, and all through my college days I've been taking lots of ballroom dance classes.
