Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!
I find it difficult to keep my mind on God throughout an entire day. I have heard people say, "The first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning is Jesus". When I'm at home, I always hear my mother quietly singing a hymn, or whenever I encounter a problem, she directs me to a Bible verse. But I don't usually think of these things straight away on my own.
The only time I ever seem to remember God and acknowledge what he does for me is when I do my "Quiet Time" (when I read my Bible and daily devotional), before I sleep, or when I encounter some difficulty.
What I'm trying to ask is: How do you constantly remind yourself of God and keep him in mind while going about your daily life? How do you reach that level of devotion when you can simply let everything go and just focus on God? I'm currently preparing for exams so there are times when I am so tied up in my work that I will miss a few days of "Quiet Time".
Thanks
God Bless you all :)

Your mother seems to have developed her own way to do this, probably due to making it a habit over years of time. It doesn't come naturally, as we naturally tend to fall away ("prone to wander, Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love...) plus the distractions of the world/Satan that assault us on a daily basis, especially through the media and our culture.
My wife puts scripture on a post it note on her bathroom mirror, so it is there first thing in the morning. Devotionals are a great way to keep it going, and some online Bible sites will post daily emails of Bible verses.
It is all about the relationship with Jesus, just as it is with anyone else. If you spend a lot of time with someone, you get to know them very well, and they become an integral part of your day and life. And pray for a deepening of that relationship, for that is what God wants of all of us, to come to Him and be close to Him. We are His children, the "sheep of His pasture".
Thanks for your answers. They have been helpful.
Chad, I'm a little confused by what you are saying. You said: "We don't say this most of the time, but we imagine separating God from our daily tasks because our daily tasks require work. And simply, it is a WORK to constantly remind ourselves of God." So is this a good thing or a bad thing? Are we supposed to separate God from our daily tasks? A little clarification of what you said would be great :) Thanks for the verses!
God bless you
Anita
