Fender basses V. S. Rickenbacker basses

Well this might be 2 years old, but I'll bite! I say it depends on the bass. I've played a lot of Fenders and personally think that jazz basses are bit over hyped, but the best bass I've ever played is a Fender Thunderbird. I've been saving up for one for quite awhile now.
