Umm... I'm not really sure how to add a discussion, but hopefully this will work

Hi, my name is Justin, and I am a brony. I'd like to start a discussion that lets mythical beasts give their opinion on why they think some people are bronies, and without further ado, I will attempt to add this discussion.

I actually just joined the Kommunity for this very reason. I am not a hipster, but I do consider myself deviant. This however has nothing to do with my love for MLP:FiM. I really find so much enjoyment from the show in it's over the top cartoonish comedy. It reminds me of the Power Puff Girls, which was another goofy show that I enjoyed very much even if it looked girly. I enjoy these shows not because they are different, but because they are good.

I am not a 'brony' because it's cool and hip, I'm a brony because I love the show. I even went to six different McDonald's locations in order to make sure I got all of the toys. I don't care what people think about the show, and I don't care what the target audience is, as long as the show continues to be as hilarious and enjoyable as it is I will watch it. I'll admit I have a soft spot for bubbly girly stuff occasionally, like the occasional chick flick, and like I admitted before I'm very deviant and weird, but who isn't?

I'll also be the first to say that you can probably tell a hipster brony easily by asking what they think of the 'cutie mark crusader's' episodes. Those story lines are almost completely girly mush and very little comedy compared to the regular episodes. It's like the show is made for big sister, but the occasional cute mark crusader episode was made for little sister. I usually don't watch them again unless I'm doing a total rerun of a season.

I write too much. If you are still undecided, watch the episode Sonic Rainboom, or even better Fall Weather Friends. These two episodes are so over the top in their hilarious cartoonish shenanigans while at the same time easy to jump into for a newbie. In Sonic Rainboom some of the characters act totally out of character, each showing a very different side of themselves, while in Fall Weather Friends it's all about how the two personalities of two of the girls clash.

By the way, this brings up another point. The reason the show is good is not just for the cartoonishnessity of it, but also because the CHARACTERS ARE LIKEABLE. I can go on and on about the characters. Each personality is distinct and different and enjoyable for different reasons. It's really that in depth, and that's why it's not just some cartoon for little girls. It's like a good sitcom that's been animated.

Why am I a pegasister? Its actually an interesting story... *ahem* It all started while roaming youtube... *flashback*

My friend had sent me a link to an "Anti-pony" type video **WARNING, SOME EXPLICIT ... THINGS. NOT EVEN SOME. A LOT. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxAJqvslV7M  **  And after watching all of these videos about these anti-ponies, I decided "Hey! I'm watching all of these spoofs of MLP... might as well watch an episode of the real one!" So I watched a few episodes! and then I thought of all my old ponies...( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZzIg0s7eKxs  G3)
I remember Rainbow Dash being obsessed with her clothes and how I ALWAYS wanted her toy, when Cheerilee, Scootaloo, and Pinkie were the same age and when ponies said "Everybody" instead of "everypony"... memories... :'D But anyway! Just thinking of that made me want to watch some more episodes! so I did... and ended up falling in love with the show because of the funny plot, the funny characters, and the fact that the show is just appealing to me!

AND.

The only reason I don't like the show is the fact that a whole bunch of people think that they are, I don't know, Rebelling against the normal? Well, I hate the fact that all of the people don't actually like the show, they just use it to post annoying pictures.
