Where has Alex gone?

I noticed today during the bug eating awesomeness that Alex was not present and there is a new guy on the team (missed his name). Has alex been replaced? Was he fired or laid off? Perhaps simply on vacation. :P Speculation aside, anyone have any idea what happened?

I love watching the GMM show grow and evolve, especially the team.

all though i am not sure, but my guess is that alex is not always "there" at the show while it is being filmed. I believe there have been other times when R&L have everyone come up and alex has not been there.

I think Alex is/was an intern, so maybe his internship is over. He seems like a cool dude, though!
