Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Hey, my name is Caleb Renfroe. I'm 17, and I live in Atlanta, Georgia.
A few years ago I was at my grandparent's home in rural Alabama. On the local television station we watched the grand opening of the town's Wal-Mart Super Center. Everyone far and wide was there to celebrate, including the mayor. The high school marching band played in the produce section while the cheerleaders danced in a frozen food aisle. The event narrated by a local celebrity made my family and I laugh. It was awkward, uncomfortable and funny to watch. It got me to thinking. I realized it was these kinds of real life stories I want to retell in a web series.
My goal is to create a mock vlog called The Vlogmentary. Here is a quick description.
Public access TV is the original YouTube. Its a place where a talentless person can be the star of their own show free of charge, and it still lives on in the backwoods town of Gu-Win, Georgia. The Vlogmentary is a weekly mock vlog, from the teenage crew who captures it all on camera. While they attempt to make growing up in rural America as interesting as possible.
What is your opinion? I'm not sure what to expect since their isn't a mock vlog on YouTube already.
Thanks for your time!

I'd watch that. Let me know if you end up doing it! Sounds awesome.

An outstanding idea . . . I know of at least one guy who has made a tidy living creating mockumentaries for the big screen, and there have been a number of similar television series.  So, I can't see why the genre wouldn't also find a loyal following online. And believe me, as someone who actually lived for 10 years in Hog Mountain, Georgia, I know you would have a great bit of hokey small-town activity to "mockument" in the Atlanta area.

I'm holding auditions at the end of November, and filming January through February. My plan is to release The Vlogmentary in March 2012.  I can't wait! I've wanted to do this since the eighth grade, and last March I decided to finally do it.
