RhettandLinKommunity

Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

I'm pretty sure if you've been with the YouTube community for the past year, you probably know what Vidcon is. If not, Vidcon is a YouTube mega gathering where you get to meet your favorite YouTubers, watch them preform, listen to interviews, play games, and such fun activities. Last year attendees were such popular YouTubers as Rhett and Link, iJustine, Mystery Guitar Man, Shane Dawson, The Vlog Brothers (who actually organized the event), and many more. Since the 2010 site is down apparently, I'll just post these two pages for what it was like last year:

Now that you have a good description, Vidcon 2011 (in my opinion) is seemed to be an even bigger event than last years. The event is probably going to be run like it was last year, but the craziness will probably ensue similarly, yet differently.

The official Vidcon 2011 site is here; you can find much information about hotels, speakers, agenda, and such:

http://www.vidcon2011.com/

Now here are some notes you need to know about funding.

Tickets:

Tickets for the event can be bought here: http://vidcon.eventbrite.com/ with a minimal price of $80. The industry ticket is $250(only for 28th and focuses more on online video growth). Tickets sell out quicker than you think, so hurry and purchase!

Hotels:

Vidcon it is being hosted at the  Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel (http://www.centuryplaza.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/index.jsp). It's $150 per night minimum, therefore 5 nights would be $750, which is still very expensive. I suggest trying to share a room with someone, which can be done here at the Vidcon forums: http://www.vidcon2011.com/forums/ . Also leave suggestions of cheaper hotels in the Los Angeles area below.

Flights:

Flight costs can completely vary, therefore I set up this little list of how much it costs for a plane ticket to get to Vidcon (for 1 adult roundtrip at minimum cost):

Seattle: $244

New York: $398

Chicago: $329

Miami: $354

Denver: $177

Toronto: $627

Sydney: $1,620

London:  $1,155

Rio De Janeiro:  $1,073

If I didn't list your city, you can look it up the ticket prices on Expedia: http://www.expedia.com/?rfrr=Head:Nav:Multi:Home

As you can see, flights are the most expensive part about the trip if you live far away, so start saving now!

If I were to calculate my total trip budget, Hotel+Flight+Ticket= $1100, I suggest you add up your budget as well.

The Date is set for: July 28th, 29th, and 30th. If you have any questions, here's a FAQ. Any other unanswered questions can be sent through the link at the bottom of the page. And please, post any comments Vidcon related below!

Good luck, and I hope to see you (and myself) there!
