I'm vaguely aware of R&L's roles as the Bentley Brothers, but I really don't know much about it...was that a recent thing? Much older? I've never heard them talk about it -- not even so much as mention it.

It's not exactly a recent thing, but it's not super old, either. They did the videos for a company called JellyTelly, which was founded in 2008. I'm pretty sure the Bentley Brothers stuff came out in 2009? So they were definitely established on YouTube and just chose not to really talk about it. That's understandable though, as they have always kept their faith life pretty separate from their overt Internetainment endeavors.

. . . and Jelly Telly (http://www.jellytelly.com/) is the latest creation of Phil Vischer who was also responsible for development of the Veggie Tales and What's In the Bible series. Rhett and Link first met Phil when they were touring with the Campus Crusade for Christ during their college days. R&L filmed a total of eight (8) videos as the FBBs for the Jelly Telly show.

I would be curious as to if they hold to the same beliefs they sing about. Their videos can be cryptic and have interesting content. Don't get me wrong, big fans of R&L, but TFBB and GMM/apperances in ERB/Good mythical show etc etc etc, seem like different people.
