Let there be AFRICA!...or not
So the other day, I got an email about Mythicon, and guess what? There will be a Mythicon in every continent EXCEPT Africa. Like BRUH?!! Africa is just out of the world equation completely! Just like that!
I know though, maybe not many people responded to the invites. But still, as an African mythical beast I feel left out. I feel like perhaps I don't deserve to be a mythical beast because I'm not from where all the other mythical beasts are. I don't fit in. Even though Rhett and Link are some of my favorite YouTubers!
No worries though, I still got mad love for my home, my people, and my fellow mythical beasts. One day. One day, we'll make it there.
To all the mythical beasts going, I hope you have fun. No hard feelings.

Mythicon locations are entirely dependent on Mythical Beasts volunteering to host one in their local area. It would be great to have lots of Mythicon locations in Africa, but we would need MBs such as yourself to make it happen! The lack of Mythicon sites in Africa was not purposeful or intended; we just didn't have anyone volunteer to host.

@Nelu - - since you have been a Kommunity member since May 5, 2016 you have probably received at least ten (10) of the broadcast messages which I sent to all members with MythiCon updates. Yet you waited until the day after this is all over to reply? Maybe next year, huh?
As Victoria already pointed out, no event can occur unless there is at least one person willing to organize as host. There were several first time hosts this year and some who were welkomming guest to their fourth event since this started in 2013. Since the beginning, there has not been one yet in any African or Middle East country. Step up next year and enjoy.

@Gumbo123 Like I said, I understand the reason there's no mythicon in Africa is probably because nobody accepted the invitation to host/attend. By pointing out that Africa was not on the mythicon list, I never intended to insinuate any from of discrimination from anyone. I just felt that it was something that should be noticed and acknowledged. I like to think that we mythical beasts are part of a global community. So if one part of the globe is not on the list, it wrong for me to point it out? I like to believe that once we acknowledge it we can work on fixing the issue. Again, I was just pointing it out, not insinuating anything.

Understood. On the Kommunity group for MythiCon 2016 you will see on the MASTER LIST each continent listed including Africa. There are also some cities, states and countries listed that at one time did have a proposed host that either had to cancel or went MIA. When I sent out that final e-mail blast last week I tried to eliminate any locations that were doubtful.
I will be sure to notify you when you're panning begins for MythiCon 2017. STAT BEAST!!!
