Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

I just want to ask, what did you two plan to do when you were younger, job wise? I am sure you didnt plan on being a youtube success, so there must have been some 'ordinary' job you wanted to do when you grew up... I dont know if this will be answered ever, its just an out of interest question.

This is also open to Mythical Beasts, it would be awesome to hear what you guys wanted to do when you grew up, or still want to do.

I am going to say my plans for the future is to be a vet, but my backup plan would be a psychologist. Just putting it out there ^_^

Since my own story is not that interesting, and R&L are pretty tied up at the moment, I will attempt to summarize some information about the guys that you may or may not already know . . .

Rhett and Link shared a love for film making at an early age (you can enjoy one of their earliest memorialized efforts HERE).  According to an interview that Fuquay's dynamic duo gave to the Charlotte News Observer, ""When they were about 15, a pair of best friends from Buies Creek stood in a cow pasture and signed an oath in blood. Neither of them can find the stained document anymore, but the gist was this: We promise to live a fantastic life making movies, and do it together."

But hedging their bet on the more practical side, they both studied at North Carolia State University in a field unrelated to the entertainment industry, and their first post-graduation employment was related to their engineering degrees - - Link industrial and Rhett civil - - before they chucked the desk jobs and went to work for Campus Crusade's mid-South headquarters as, in their own words, "videographers / speakers / lounge singers."

The "ABOUT US" page on RhettandLink.com used to contain more backstory and photos from the early years, but it appears that has been taken down to provide more recent biographical information.  Probably because so much of their story has been published on other sites, including their WIKIPEDIA page. Therefore, one of the links provided in my Rhett & Link 101 tutorial offered to all Kommunity newcomers is not currently working.  I will update that as soon as a suitable replacement bio is located.

Minor correction. There was never a "Charlotte News Observer" it was the the Charlotte Observer (Morning paper and still around) and the Charlotte News (Afternoon paper and no longer existant).

But on topic I've always been intrested in doing something in science, perhaps culinary arts. Which is just science applied to food. Really cooking is just science for hungry people.

ohhh thank you ^_^
First, I will save up money by taking photos of nature, then I will start writing fantasy books. :)

when i was in either 3rd or 4th grade i wanted to be a Zoo Keeper. :D

Same here! I then wanted to be a zoologist, though. Then I discovered I had a gift for writing. Writing will not make me enough money, so first I'll take photos of nature.

I want to major in mathematics, teaching either highschool or college. I also want to have a minor in art. I love both subjects so much! :D
Seeing as I'm not quite "grown up" yet, I want to be a psychologist.  Right now I'm really interested in prison psychology, which is to be a psychologist for people in jail.
thanks, I didnt even think about criminal psychology maybe I will take a look into that ^_^

I wanted to be a mailman. I had a very... uninformed childhood, so I didn't know of very many professions. I just knew we had a mailman and that I thought those tiny cars were awesome. I still think they're awesome.

A better answer would be when I was in 5th grade I had an awesome counselor named Mr. Harper. My 5th-6th grade years weren't good, and he really helped me through them. I wanted to be like him so I decided I wanted to be a counselor.

As for now? I dunno, something to do with history. Bleh.
