Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!
...unless I actually knew how to make virtual pets and I got permissions from Bandai and stuff...)
I can imagine what it would be, and it'd be half Pocket Neopets (the shell and stuff), half Tamagotchi (screen and care aspect) and half Giga Pet (may get tricky the more you play)
I mean sure, it'd be fun to raise your own Rhett, Link, or any mythical beast, but it can sometimes get a little too tricky (a bit of a Giga Pets feel comes in).
Here's where my idea begins...(this is not actually happening, please don't take it seriously)
Pocket Link: A virtual version of Rhett's best friend, who's now your best friend too. Meet Pocket Link. He may be a little shy at first, but he requires minimal care, but watch out when he gets ill, as that will make things harder for you.
Pocket Rhett: A virtual friend that is a friend for life! Meet Pocket Rhett, Rhett's virtual clone that you can care for. He requires some form of care, but watch his happiness. He will go from happy and fun to sad and gloomy within minutes if you don't watch out.
Pocket RandLer: A virtual mythical beast that is cute and cuddly, but easily gets hungry after five hours of play. It requires a lot of care, however, as said earlier, watch for his hungry bar being empty, as this will make your RandLer feel very hungry and may die instantly if not fed.
Pocket Belvedere: Everyone's favorite fire breathing chicken (er, Cockatrice) has flew in to be your new friend! Just don't forget to discipline Belvedere if he breathes fire all over the place! This pet requires care every hour, so it will provide a challenge.
Startup: When you start up your virtual friend, you will hear the Good Mythical Morning theme song and then the Rhett & Link logo will appear on screen and will stay for 2 minutes after the final note is played. This is the "hatching sequence". After the 2 minutes are up, the screen will then switch to your virtual friend. It's time to raise this pet of mythicality!
Caring for your friend: Sometimes it's hard to tell what your little friend wants by the number of beeps it does. Here's the guide to determine when to care for your new pal.
1 beep - I'm fine, just saying hello!
2 beeps - Okay, I may be a little sad...
3 beeps - I think I need some attention...
4 beeps - I'm hungry/sad/sick/needing discipline!
If it does one or two beeps, make sure to give your friend some love, cuz they may die or run away.
Depending on which pal you have (Rhett, Link, RandLer or Belvedere), the level of care can be influenced on how you treat it or by its stats.
Stats: This includes the name of your friend (NOTE: You cannot change the name of your character), their weight and height, their hungry level, happy level, trust level, and health.
Food: Each friend comes with a default meal and snack, only when they need it. But don't feed your friend too many snacks, it will make them become really sick. Meals fill the hungry bar by increments of 20, while the snacks fill it by increments of 5. Here are the default foods your friend will have.
Rhett: Soup (meal), Pancakes (snack)
Link: Cereal (meal), Candy (snack)
RandLer: Acorns (meal), Tree bark (snack)
Belvedere: Magic seeds (meal), Chili pepper (snack)
Praising/Time out: If your friend feels a little lonely, don't be afraid, they just need a little pick-me-up. Select Praise and your friend will feel happy again. If your friend refuses to do anything even if their meters are empty, they need to be disciplined. Select Time Out to do so. They will not like it, but it has to be done.
Games: Sometimes your pal will want to play games and spend time with you. Doing this will raise their happiness and trust meters by 10. Here are the games that are in each pocket friend by default.
"Wheel of Mythical Luck" - Spin the wheel and gain happiness points!
"Catch" - A ball will fly towards you, and you have to catch it. Use the arrows to catch in any direction.
Medicine: If your pal feels a little green (indicated by a skull and your character with a sour face), you may need to give them medicine. Giving them medicine will help their health meter increase.
Sleep: If your pal gets sleepy (your pal will appear drowsy), make sure to turn off the lights. You will see a Z appear on screen afterwards. Your pal sleeps from 8 PM to 9 AM.
Death/Running Away: If you leave your friend alone for too long, it will run away or die. When it runs away, you will get the last few notes from the ending to "My Hair Goes...", and you will have start all over again. If your friend dies, the chorus to "My OCD" will start playing. When it ends, a gravestone appears. This also tells you to start over.
Trusting: The trust level does start low, as your new friend will have a hard time getting to know you and learning how much you care. Keep caring for your virtual friend, and they will never want to leave.
If you raise your friend correctly, it will be friends with you for a long time.
