Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

This evening we ate dinner at the D&S cafeteria in Cary, NC.  After the meal we were sitting on a bench just outside the main exit door.  As people exited,  we would catch them in the middle of a sentence or conversation.  Many times, all we would hear is one sentence; maybe two.  Either because they realized we were there on the bench and could hear them, or it was their last sentence in the thread.  Often, the one sentence would be very intriguing because we were left wondering about the rest of the conversation.  Some were funny when we combined the sentences from multiple groups of customers.

If you have ever been to a cafeteria, you know that senior citizens love them.  The age factor was helpful because many seniors don't hold back.  Sometimes however, it caused unpleasant images.  For example, as one senior couple exited, this is what we heard:  "This time you didn't use the bathroom; did you forget?"

It was a week-day evening when we were there.  Not too crowded.  I think it might be best to pick a time when there are not too many people around, so the customers feel comfortable speaking as they exit, because they don't see anyone, including you on the bench just out of site.

Even if you don't get an idea for a video, song, etc., I guarantee one of the sentences will make you laugh.

Cheers,

Steve Vincent, from Fuquay-Varina, NC
