Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!
i have no spent the last three weeks of my life devoted to watch as much Rhett and Link as i can. I've now seen seasons 1-3 of GMM and all the episodes of The Mythical Show, plus multiple of their main channel videos. I'm proud to call myself a mythical beast and can't wait to be part of this Kommunity!
i have one question:
Why did The Mythical Show never go past episode 12?

WELKOMM! here's my personal take on that subject:
The Mythical Show was planned as a 12-episode test to determine if there was enough of an audience following for this new format so as to draw enough corporate sponsorship to justify the time & effort & cost involved in producing these shows. The 30-minute shows with annimation, interviews, original music and skits, an edited format (versus the free-style "conversational" take on GMM), etc. is VERY MUCH different from what we had ever seen from R&L (or any other YouTuber) before. This was really ground-breaking stuff, more like a television program than the usual YT channel uploads.
I'm not sure how well it was ever really received, because it was posted on the GMM channel instead of a separate account, so viewership numbers are difficult to discern. I don't really think that the average YouTube browsing fan has the attention span to stay into a 30-minute show. Teenagers are much like fruit flies in that aspect. I believe that's why today they split the daily shows between GMM and GMMore.
All that said . . . I, for one (among many), did thoroughly enjoy every one of the 12 TMS episodes and am glad to join with you in voicing the hope to see it return some day.
And, while I'm at it . . . as one fan to another . . . please allow me to "reward" your new-found enthusiasm for Rhett and Link with a couple of items from the very early day archives :
THE DAM - - the very first video that R&L ever uploaded to YouTube

Embarrassing Oedipus Kast - - original air date September 24, 2009
As Link describes it, "In middle school, we began making videos for school projects. I think the first one was our epic depiction of Oedipus Rex."
The embararrassment begins in earnest around the 50 minute mark. ENJOY!

Thanks for the Reply and i do appreciate you welcoming me to this community! :)
I agree that not many people go on Youtube hoping to watch a 30 min show and that's why it didn't get enough views, but i believe that The Mythical Show was FANTASTIC in every way and hope for a return one day.
Thanks again Gumbo123 for your insight.
