Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Hey, I saw Rhett and Link's "How To Make Someone Sound Like An Idiot" episode on GMM, and I want to experiment with the concept (and mainly hear how much of a dingus me and any other victims can make of ourselves). I have access to garage band and noise-canceling headsets, but I'm not sure how to go about "delaying" or adding latency to a live track, without just going and buying the crappiest set of earphones and letting the built-in over-abundance of latency take over. But I'm sure there's a better way! Let me know if you've done it and how, or if you have experience and just know off the top of your head!

The noise cancelling headset is necessary to block out all sound except for what was being fed back on delay.  Otherwise you would hear an echo effect . . . so a cheap set won't work for this project.

here are some resources for you:

How To Make Yourself Sound Like an Idiot - Garage Band

Season 2 ~ Episode #37 - - How to Make Someone Sound Like an Idiot

here are instructions from a non-komm YouTuber = = = >

How to create a Speech Jammer in Garage Band:

  • Add a voice instrument and turn monitoring on/
  • In the edit tab add a "track echo" to the voice track.
  • Change echo settings to no echo repeat, full echo volume and 0(zero) original volume
  • Turn echo time down to a interval that works best
  • Turn up volume on computer all the way for best results
  • (try to eliminate yourself from hearing your actual voice...you only want to hear your echo)

Can you do it any other way than using garage band? I don't have it.

Sweet action, sounds great! Thanks!
