Help! New Kommunity Member Here - What is MythiCon?

Hello fellow mythical beasts! I just joined the Kommunity a couple weeks ago and I saw something called MythiCon from a few years back. Could someone tell me what it is and also if there are any planned for 2017? Specifically in Florida? Thanks, friends!

MythiCon is an informal gathering of Mythical Beasts at various locations worldwide, created by and intended for the general enjoyment of Mythical Beasts everywhere to bond over Rhett and Link. Local events are hosted by volunteers and coordinated through the RhettandLinKommunity. ~via Google

I have no clue if there's going to be one in FL. You'll just need to keep your eyes open.

Hi! I'm in Florida, specifically the Tampa Bay area. I have never been to a Mythicon but would love to. Maybe we could organize one?

HERE is the link to last year's discussion page for Jacksonville, FL (the only confirmed event in that state each of the past three years ~ 2014-2015-2016) from MythiCon 2016 - - - MASTER LIST OF MEETING SITES

This in no wise is an indication or condition that other local / regional gatherings could not occur across the area, only that no other attempts have succeeded to date.

There has not been an official meeting of the minds yet to set the date for MC5 (MythiCon 2017 is the fifth year) but if we hold to tradition of the past it would likely fall on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Stay tuned for details as the time approaches.

Thank you so much!! I appreciate the info. Jacksonville is a bit far from where I am, so if there are other Mythical Beasts in the Tampa or even possibly Orlando area, I'd love to be a part of the planning.

Ok so I was looking at the list of places and I'm from Georgia, but there wasn't one in Georgia, will there be one in Georgia, if not it's ok I will be able to find one near me but I just wanted to know to that I can see if I'll be able to make it this year

None in GA last year as the proposed host had to back out due to conflict in schedule and no one stepped up. The 2015 gathering was at Sweet Water State Park in Lithia Springs (not too far from you) . . .
