Getting to the Seat of the Issue

Dear Rhett and Link,

This might be a silly question, but I'm betting there's some logic to it. What made you guys decide to have Link on the left and Rhett on the right? Habit? Camera angles? Matching R and R to L and L? Something else?

They actually used to sit in the opposite order (Link would be on the left from our perspective and Rhett on the right), but then they changed it because people would get their names confused. They would see "Rhett & Link" and then "read" the screen from left to right and assume the first person they saw (Link) was Rhett and the second (Rhett) was Link. Because of this, R&L made the conscious choice to shift spots to the current arrangement.

I can't remember where exactly Rhett gave this explanation, but that's the official answer.
