Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!
During today's GMM episode Rhett and Link asked for a perspective on fist bumps to handshakes...
I personally think there are many different reasons you might bump someone's fist over shake their hand or visa versa...
Maybe if you were being formal you'd shake someone's hand, and casual you'd bump their fist...
Another reason someone might fist bump somebody elses hand is because they're either sick or a germaphob!
I personally prefer fist bumps because you can get fancy with them and it's just kind of like "hanging loose" :)

What ever happened to the good old HIGH 5?
In the United States, there is an initiative to celebrate the third Thursday of April as National High Five Day.
The use of the phrase as a noun has been part of the Oxford English Dictionarysince 1980 and as a verb since 1981. The gesture takes its name from the "five" fingers and the raising of the hand "high". This is opposed to the "low" five" which has been a part of the African-American culture since at least World War II.
It's probably impossible to know exactly when the low first transitioned to a high, but there are many creation myths. Among the many origin stories of the high five, the two best documented candidates are Glenn Burke of the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team on Oct. 2, 1977, and Wiley Brown and Derek Smith of the Louisvillle Cardinals basketball team during the 1978-1979 season.
Magic Johnson once suggested that he invented the high five at Michigan State. Others have suggested it originated in the women's volleyball circuit of the 1960s.
oooo that's a good point :O

It depends; if I was at a formal event or I met someone new then I would shake hands.
But if i said "hi" to my best bud I would do a fist bump.
To me, 'fist bumping' is giving someone respect. 'Hand shaking' is like meeting and greeting.
Handshakes are for when you first meet someone, or your trying to impress someone, like when your on a job interview. And Fist bumps are for when you are around friends and just hanging out. Handshakes-formal Fist Bumps-familiar.
All else fails do a MYTHICAL TURKEY!!!! One person does a high 5 the other a fist bump, and it makes a turkey!!! :D
I propose that the TURKEY be adopted as the official hand greeting of the Kommunity. And therefore be called a Mythical Turkey!!!
TURKEY . . . as illustrated by Nick from the DapApp
. . . the move so smooth he named it after himself . . .
