hi Jacob,

two of the best albums I have bought in the last little while... actually, probably two of the best albums I have EVER bought are the "Country Funk" compilations.  yes, you heard me right.  this is whisky-soaked music from 1969-75 but with a decidedly funky rhythm section parts.  look them up.  Country Funk and Country Funk Vol.2.  they are excellent and unexpected.

individually, I love older country and a few newer artists also.  the main deal is they have to be good... and these below are my favourites of all time.

Hank Williams, George Jones, Lucinda Williams, Lyle Lovett, and Brad Paisley... If I have to narrow it to a top 5.
