RhettandLinKommunity

Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

From what I can tell, the kommunity has people who attend anime conventions, as well as renaissance festivals, and I'm sure a whole range of other events. The aspect of these events I want to concentrate on is costuming or cosplay. I have never gone to the renaissance in regular people clothes and an anime convention is more fun when you are dressed up.

I think it would be awesome to have a KBE where members send in pictures of themselves dressed up. It is a great way to see what our mythical beasts are into and a wonderful way to display mythical talents.

ROFL!!!

I JUST posted a video up the other week of me in steampunk attire.

I can upload a few of those. My costume wasn't nearly as cool as some of the others, though. It was kinda lame, actually...

I love my Renn Faire costume. Completely cobbled togeather, but it still matches the look of the genre.
That is awesome. I haven't tried dressing steam punk, but I would like to.
It's so fun.

I had a pair of shorts, got a pair of ridiculous shoes (High heels with a front lace) for nine bucks, wore lacey tights and a jacket from goodwill in a pantsuit that I cut all the buttons off of because they were ugly. Add a pair of army-green gloves with brass buttons, an inappropriate leather hat, extra pockets... voila!

I was hoping for goggles, too, but I've got a PLAN for next year. I'm thinking a monocle or an eyepatch.

In short - EASY costume, you just have to know what you're looking for. If you're going industrial and rebel it's easier. But if you're going for a corset, find a real corsetmaker.

Sounds pretty awesome. I did just acquire some silver boots that would probably work. I will definitely have to try it out one day.
