Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

I was browsing through discussions and seeing what people liked when I started to wonder if there were any otaku amongst the Rhett and Link fans. If so, which anime do you watch and what mangas do you read? Maybe someone here likes to cosplay at anime conventions or you just want to know what the heck this anime thing is about.

I love anime and manga. ^^
Although, I have gotten a little bit out of reading or watching since I discovered Rhett and Link. x]
I've been to 4 or 5 anime conventions with my friends in Atlanta and cosplayed each time.
I read more than watch, though, and most recently I read the Saiyuki manga. It's really good , and I would suggest it to anyone who likes Shonen, or action/adventure.
I also have been reading Bleach for about 4 years, which is when it first came out in America, but I don't like the anime...It can't even compare with the manga. =P
I LOVE the original Fullmetal Achemist anime, but I haven't gotten around to watching the new series.
I also have loved Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragonball Z since I was a small child. ^^
What about you, what do you watch/read? =]

EDIT
Oh wow, I just noticed that you posted this on my birthday, what a coincidence. xD
Happy belated birthday! (I know it is very belated by now)

I love all the ones you have mentioned as well as some of my favorites like Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Evangelion, etc.etc. . I most recently have watched Serial Experiment Lain, Strawberry Panic, Junou Romantica, and I am currently watching El Cazador De Le Bruja and Devilman Lady. I haven't been reading quite as much manga as I usually do, but I last read Junjou Romantica, Ikigami, and Angel Sanctuary and I have many mangas waiting to be read.
I have been immersing myself into anime since I was in....maybe middle school (I'm a sophmore in college now), even though I didn't realize it at first. I have been to about 11 conventions and worked at one of those this past summer. I often times just wear random outfits or be a catgirl or something, but I have cosplayed Duo Maxwell (Gundam Wing) and Misato Katsuragi (Evangelion).
I am so happy to find a fellow fan.
Does Atlanta have good resources for anime fans? or lots of good cons?
The comic fans out there might appreciate my friend's tattoo.

Aww, thank you. >wbr /> I'm sorry, the only ones I've ever heard of were Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, and Evangelion, I guess I'm not very aware of the ones that aren't as well known. Dx
(Unless those are, I have no idea. DDx)
I've been into it since middle school, as well, but I'm only a junior in high school. And I really go in and out of it, I'm not really constantly reading or watching anything. x]
That is a LOT of cons...And how fun was it to actually work at one?? It sounds pretty awesome. ^^
I don't just go around town in cosplay or dressed up at all, but I do make hats with ears, and I have quite a few now. x] (I have a bunny hat with ears that almost reach the ground on me, and I'm 5'11"-ish. xD)
I have cosplayed Juushiro Ukitake (Bleach), Sora (KH2, my friends wanted a group, so I was kinda forced into it.), Ike (SSBB/Fire Emblem), and Gamma Akutabi (Zombie Powder. Have you ever heard of it? 'Cuz nobody knew who I was at one of the biggest con in Atlanta. ><)
They have a few that are pretty good (so I've heard), but I've only been to two, two years in a row. AWA Con is great, and Momocon is okay, now that they've put an admittance cap on it, because it's free, so the crowds were ridiculous last year. It's small, but free. x]

Bob: THAT'S SO COOL!! ^^
Tell your friend that I said he's AWESOME. xD
That is an AMAZING tattoo. I love those shows!!!
I plan to get a tattoo of The Crow. It isn't anime, but it is comic and movie related.

To work at a con all you have to do is volunteer. You can find all the info on cons websites. Usually as long as you work a required number of hours per day you get a room for the weekend and you can do whatever you want in your free time. You room with other volunteers. It is an interesting experience. I have a couple of friends that worked with one of the dealers.
I am pretty much constantly involved with some anime or manga, but it is kind of how I relax between all the work. Read or write a bunch and then reward myself with an episode or chapter or two.
I have heard of all the ones you mentioned and that is crazy that no one had heard of Zombie Powder.
A FREE con! That is awesome. We had one at a local college that I think was free, but it was only for one day. And yes I have been to a lot, but I have been attending cons for about 5 years now. Conventions are my reset button.
Maybe I'll get a tattoo someday...
After I move out of my parent's house, of course. x]

That sounds pretty cool, maybe my friends and I will check it out for future cons. ^^
...But I guesss it would probably help if you live close to the location of the con?
Oh, so you write manga? I would love to read it one day. ^^
And that is a very efficient system, I like it. x]
I know, it's one of my favorites, and I think only one person the entire day knew who I was.
Well, they were the only one to say my name...
But maybe I'm just a terrible cosplayer, who knows. xDD
Momocon is annual, I think about 3 years now?
It's pretty small, but like I said, it is free. x]
I kind of know what you mean by 'reset button', although with my friends and I it's more like after we go back to school we're thinking' "I miss __con." xD
I don't write mangas...haha I wish. Sorry, I meant like reading and writing papers for classes. But If I get inspiration I could write a story or fanfic. It has been awhile since I have finished one though.
I'm sure you were not that bad at cosplaying, sometimes people are just slow or don't really know the show. Unfortunately the characters I like/want to cosplay are from shows from the 90's and older. Since the main demographic at cons has shifted to being on the younger side, I don't get recognized very often. How sad, these kids don't know how epic and mind boggling Neon Genesis Evangelion is, or how bad ass Gundam Wing was.
Oh, sorry. x]
I've never written a fanfic...I don't think I'm creative or motivated enough to come up with a storyline outside of a storyline that would make people want to read it. xD
Well, I know I'm not great, and I've had some insults on my cosplays before. Not because of my costume, but because my body type and face don't fit any characters, and I only crossplay, as well.
That is pretty sad, but at least one of my friends still watches a lot of older animes, so all is not lost, I think. xD
That's good. I know there is still hope.

I think in some cases people are to harsh of cosplayers and in some cases people should know not to cosplay something. But I usually mean that in the case of like chicks cosplaying bikini clad characters that pretty much no regular size person could pull off. I think cosplay is great though and shouldn't be stifled. The effort that goes into a handmade cosplay should be respected, amazing or not. And crossplay is awesome too. Sometimes it actually makes it easier. Being Duo Maxwell wasn't a far stretch for me.
As far as fanfics are concerned, any fictional writing I do, I usually do for myself. I am self conscious so I am not to keen on people reading my material. But I also know, even if I am writing for someone else, if I don't enjoy it I won't be able to stick with it, and then they probably won't enjoy it either.
