Alex laid on the bench of the bench press. He's been going for about an hour and he could feel the burning sensation in his biceps, triceps, deltoid and brachioradialis. Normally he didn't work out but his sister had been telling him he needed to go, so he finally did. Sitting up for a minute, he saw someone from across the gym, through the mass of people their that Friday night, and she was beautiful. She was in short, black biking shorts and a dark blue, razor back jogging top. He wondered how long she'd been there as he laid back down, got his grip and let the bar drop toward his chest.

Running, she had been for hours. It had been a very bad day at the office, or at least at what she called the office. Her gym was about half an hour away, she trains inspiring teenagers in gymnastics in the delicate art of pole vaulting, at least that was the lessons today. The ear buds she had in blasted some sort of classical jamboree going on. Turning around, for only a moment, she saw someone that seemed new to the area. Turning the treadmill down, she eased her self off the treadmill and took her pulse. Once she was sure everything was well with her body and her breathing was at it's resting rate, she took a swig of her water bottle and made her way to the bench press. There, on that bench press, was a man who she thought she knew. Standing over him, she smiled and waved.

"I haven't seen you around here before."

The young man put up the weight and sat up. He looked her up and down. "I wish I had seen you before."

"I'm flattered." She smiled, "I'm Shantel King."

Levi wailed into the punching bag, his fist moving so quickly the bag seemed to be permanently fixed at a slanted angle. The many black, fire like tattoos on his were drenched with sweat, though he moved like he just started. He stopped, when he noticed a beautiful woman talking to a man at the bench press. Eyes narrowing, Levi cocked his head to the left, before a large bald man that looked like he could tear Levi in half walked over to him. And while Levi was by no means small, this man was a walking building with a face.

"Move it, Rocky." The man said in a deep voice, standing too close for comfort.

"I'm not done, sir. Please wait." Levi replied, glaring at the man.

"You don't want me to use the punching bag, all right." He said, backing away slowly. Before Levi had time to react, the man swung a left jab, right into Levi's ribs. He toppled over, then stood quickly. His grey eyes glowed faintly blue as he stared into the man's own eyes.

"Go home. And do not come back." Levi said in monotone. The man walked out in a trance, his eyes empty.

(I know what you said about action, but this was fun.)

(That was great, Batman)

Looking over Shantel's left shoulder, Alex couldn't help but notice some sort of fight.
"Don't get me wrong, I would love to continue this conversation but some guy is getting the crap best out of him."
As Alex made his way toward the crowd, he believed Shantel was following him.
Turning around, Shantel saw a man slamming his fist into another man. Running over toward them, Shantel got between them. The man swung at her; she dodged his punch and smacked his undercut away from her jaw. Quickly and with out flaw, Shantel put the man in a head lock.
"Now,"she said, "can we all be friends?"

Levi smirked, then quickly thrust his left foot behind Shantel's foot, and jumped back on his back, landing on her.

"No, I don't think we can."

Coughing, her ribs were crushing her lungs. Wrapping her leg around his knee and applying outside pressure to the shoulder above that knee, Shantel forced her away on top of him. Straddling his back, she pinned his arms above his head.
"Just chill and stop touching me."

"You attacked me first." Levi pointed out as he rolled on top of her, then forced her off of him. "So you stop touching me."

"Hey! Cut it out!"  A man shouted as he walked towards them. "No fighting in my gym!"

"This is not your concern." Levi said in monotone, his eyes once again faintly blue.

"You're right. I'll be on my way." The man said as he turned and left, drooling.

"As will I." Levi said, pushing past Alex as he walked towards the exit.

Standing, Shantel dusted of her back and asked Alex, "Do you know who that was?

Shantel wasn't sure if she knew him or not, but he seemed familiar.... his eyes seemed familiar...

Alex watched Levi walk away. "I know him, well I don't know him but he's a hot head. My cellmate has a better feel of him." Shantel looked at him curiously. "Come on, you can meet her."

She laughed, "No thanks. Maybe next time."

Shantel said her goodbyes to Alex and began to make her way home. Grabbing her water bottle from the ground, she peeled her fingerless  gloves from her hands. She loved having gloves that showed her fingers, it was kind of her trademark and obsession. Through the gym, neighbors and friends waved to her. A particularly good friend of hers, Justin, came up to her just as she was about to walk in to the locker room.

"Shantel! What are you doing here? Your gym is a while away!" He said, wiping his face.

"Water?"" She offered and her took it. Oh, also, Justin is her ex-boyfriend."Yeah, my kids were particularly a pain today."

Justin shook his head. "Shame, shame. On your way to the lockers?" He watched her nod "Why don't you skip the lockers and you can come back home with me? I'll make dinner, we can watch a movie or something and go for a shower."

"A cold Shower?" She asked suggestively.

Justin smiled and ran his hands over her shoulders. "Could be... won't know unless you let me take you home."

"On second thought," Shantel moved his hands, "I'll be taking my own warm shower."

As Justin voiced a complaint, Shantel smiled and waved as she slipped into the locker room.

Levi walked through the streets of New York, heading towards the door of an old warehouse near the Harbor. He halted mid-step as an unnatural cold came from nowhere. He turned around and saw a black figured, whose face was hidden by a shadowy veil.
"Brother." The figure said in a deep voice as it walked towards Levi.
"Thanis." Levi said, grasping his left forearm with his own.
"It has been to long, brother."
"Indeed." Levi turned around and motioned to the door. "Come, we will talk inside. "
