Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Since it was suggested in the official R&L forum, and I don't think anyone has started this discussion yet: "If you can choose, which one do you love more? Go ahead, gush. They'll love it."

Which one do you relate to better? Which one would you be BFF with? We know it's almost impossible to choose either Rhett or Link, but tell us what you like about each individual.

I would have to choose Rhett. (Although Link is just as amazing!)He has great hair and it wouldn't matter how tall your shoes are if you hang out with Rhett. He's so tall! But I do agree with Emily. You can't have one without the other. It's like not seeing both of your grandparents together. It's always weird.
I hate to admit this in a public forum, but since the discussion was started by someone else, I am going to come clean. Shortly after I started watching Rhett and Link RELIGIOUSLY, I think I had them on the brain and well, I had a dream that I was on a camping trip with them, and I was sort of going out with Link. He was a good smoocher in my dream. So, yeah, I'm partial to Link. But don't ever tell this story to my husband (who is not a member of the Kommunity, so you probably couldn't anyway, LOL)

I agree with everyone else that they are a winning combo and I wouldn't want them to ever split up and go solo or anything like that.
I had that smoocher dream too! Except Link was a red head.
I too have wondered how Rhett would fare doing the Kast by himself.
lol, RhettandBlanKast. Yeah, that would be interesting to see.
My first comment on the R&L blog:
"Link, you’re soooo awesome!
Rhett, you’re awesome to,
But Link, you’re almost too cool!"
(copied straight from http://rhettandlink.com/blog/SandR-ep1-blog/#comments )

After reading this, you would suspect that Link was my favorite. (I didn't know very much about either one of them - I had only seen one or two videos.) But then Rhett responded:

"Mcmo, I will settle for awesome only. If I were awesome AND almost too cool, you wouldn’t be able to look at me without your pupils frying."

This comment made me like Rhett just as much as I liked Link, making them equal. Now my liking for both of them has definitely grown (in equal amounts), and I have learned that you cannot have a Link without a Rhett or a Rhett without a Link - they work perfectly together. I do not have a favorite, how can you? I don't get how anyone could have a "favorite" - It's like having chicken without waffles.
Hmmm. I wouldn't want to pick a favorite, just because that's mean (:
But there are certain times where I appreciate certain qualities that each of them have. Confusing, I know.

For example, sometimes I enjoy that Rhett doesn't sugarcoat things. It's something I can relate to. He speaks his mind about things he doesn't like and 98% of the time it cracks me up. He's not always the "nice one" but he's hilarious. He also manages to be funny without sounding stupid. He's an extremely intelligent individual and his eloquence while talking reflects that. Plus, Rhett has mad guitar skills.

But there are times where I enjoy Link being the "nice one". He makes me feel welcome, I guess. He balances Rhett out when Rhett decides to speak his mind about something. Such as the whole me liking a certain American Idol contestant that can't sing. Rhett was honest, and I commend him for that, while Link took the initiative to consider my feelings about his honestly. And I PROMISE I wasn't really upset. Well not too much (:
Link is hilarious as well. SO random, especially when Rhett is trying to have an intelligent conversation. Link keeps things light, although I know he is also smart and can be deep when he wants to be. He reminds me A LOT of my youth pastor.

So although overall I don't like one better than the other, my mood affects my appreciation for each of their personalities. Basically, there are some days that I appreciate Link's kind spirit more, and other days where I appreciate Rhett's depth and honestly more. They're the perfect comedic duo.
Raquel, If I would have decided to write a logical answer, you would have just taken all of the words out of my mouth. That's exactly how I feel.
I love how in depth I went into analyzing the personalities of two Internet comedians. I really do have too much time on my hands. Haha.
I think it's funny that you consider Link to be the "nice one". I think the opposite.

About a year ago I found out (through some digging) that Rhett's father-in-law was a karate instructor. So during office hours I asked Rhett if Locke gets free karate lessons from his grandpa. He freaked out and said "How does cephas know this stuff?" And Link just said "don't talk to that stalker."

So there you have it. Link isn't nice cause he called me a stalker...so what if it's true, it wasn't nice.
Whaat? Lies!

*denial*
Peter I'm gonna side with you my stalker friend, for just about 10 seconds before I hop back on the fence again. I noticed that Rhett has friended almost everyone in the Kommunity. But, Link for some reason has not. Whaaa! :o( Was it my big hair???

But after thinking about their personalaties (Rhett is more friendly to strangers, and Link doesn't like answering the phone and talking to strangers, etc) I totally get it and respect that. Link is uber-focused and doesn't need the distractions of the fans. And after all, we're all still connected in the Kommunity.

Ok, so now I'm going back on the fence again. I love them both 50/50 and they complement each other perfectly and wouldn't be as good individually without the other.
