Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!
I just had this idea: we should make a GMM wordle out of EVERY GMM episode so far!
If you don't know what a wordle is, here's a link:
What it is...breifly: it counts all the words in the text, and the ones that appear the most are BIGGER in the final picture, and the ones that appear the least are smaller.
How to do it: I typed up today's episode (Food Court Nightmare) in word (it took forever...maybe there's a better way to do this? If not, every person could take one episode and type it up and one person, unfortunately not me, since my computer likes being stupid, could compile them and make the wordle from the site) and pasted it into the 'create' part of the site. Since my computer refused to work, mi amiga did that part for me...and here it is!
When I did this, I realized that Rhett says "and I was like" a LOT! Both Rhett and Link say "you know" a lot. They also talk over each other a lot, which made this harder. There aren't as many "uh"s or "um"s as I thought there would be. They both say "gonna" a lot too, which I wrote as "going to," so that's probably why "going" was so big, even though they didn't say the actual word "going" a lot.
So...good idea?

This is pretty cool. Transcribing thing's takes forever though! I had to transcribe a fifteen minute counseling session in college, including all "ums" and "likes" and (looks at her watch) Aaaaa!
Agreed, transcribing is a nightmare. You don't realize how much of a pain it can be until you actually do one or two.
It's kind of a fun idea to do something like this, but I'm not sure many people would be willing to put in the effort!
That is a ton of work!! That's awesome that you would take the time to type this all up! :D
I'd be happy to assist you in transcribing some GMM episodes! (I actually enjoy doing it, there must be something wrong with me!) Would people be interested in seeing them though? Maybe we can set up a transcription team, assign certain episodes to certain people until we are caught up to the current episode and then we can rotate transcribing each week's episode from there.
Let's set something up! :)
