When the van came to a stop, Shade woke up as the man who had kicked her, draged her roughly out of the car. Once inside a brick bilding in the middle of nothingness, the sat her down in a chair and tied her to it. Devin was in anouther chair behind her so their backs where facing eachother. "So you ready to tell me where he is?" the grey-eyed man asked. "I told you," Shade said in a cracked voice, "i have no idea who your talking about." The man circled her and slapped her across the face. "Dont tell me lies!" Shade wished she could take her swetshirt off, it was humid in here. The room stank like heck, and the floors had a green layer of slime on them. The walls where just plane black giving her a shiver.
The man with the grey eyes walked aroun her three times. She couldnt read his face, it was too dark.

Shade heard dee's chair fall and was afraid to answer the man. "You cant hide him," he mocked, "i saw you pick him up on the way to your house." "Wait? on the way to my house? Are you looking for a tedy bear?! Is that all you want!?" Shade said high pitched.

"Yes, a bear," the man said, "now where is it? if you give my the bear, i will let you go." Shade was about to tell him when the door bursted open.
A boy rushed into the room and swith one swipe of his paw, threw the grey-eyed man into a wall to her left. Shade screemed and saw the grey-eyed man fall to the floor out cold. Then he turned on Shade. "Help!" she screemed, "get me out of here!" The boy who looked to be around sixteen, nodded and with his claws, cut the bindings on her hands. Shade when strait to undoing the ropes, with one hand, that where cutting into Devin's wrist. "Are you okay?" she asked, wincing at the pin at her left unmoving arm She hoped his jaw wasint broken. She also hoped her arm wasnt either.

The Strangers answer freeked Shade out, "Im that bear you sowed back up. Im the bear that you saved from the rain, and my name is Hiccup. I just saved you from being killed." Shades eyes where wide. "your a teddy bear?" she asked. "No, i was a teddy bear, now im a real bear, see?" he said raising his arm that was fuzzy and had claws at the end. "Im part bear, but you cant tell anyone," he completed. Shade touched the soft fur, "does it hurt to change?" she asked. "Yes," he answered, "very much. But i cant show you, so wait here." he turned and marched out the door of which he came.
Shade thought she heard a screem.

Shade asked, "i dont know where we are! How are we going to get out of here!?"

She ran to the door in time to see Hiccup coming her way. "They are coming," he said. "What? who is coming?" Shade asked. " The men who kiddnaped you are not just going to let you go," he said.
The three of them made it outside, but when they opened the last door, five men stood in their path to the woods with guns aimed for Hiccup. To bad he changed back into a human so soon.

Guns blasted as soon as they rounded the corner. "Devin! where are we going!?" she screemed. Her arm felt like it was going to all off. "Devin! i cant..." she let go of his hand to grab her hurt arm. tears fell from her eyes. She looked at Devin panic in her eyes.

Once in the car, Shade plopped onto the floor as to not be shot. The men with guns where running like heck to get to the car before the could drive off.
"Hury!" Shade shot at whoever was going to drive, "they are coming!"

"' Your crazy!" she screemed. "Do you even have a permit?!" she gasped as a large semi truck screeched to a stop and blocked the road ahead of them. Shade's eyes fell back to the black cars that screeched around the corner. She grabbed hold of the seat with her good arm's hand.

"YES!" She said looking out the back window. Beep beep. " Your out of gas!? Why now!? Out of all..." Shade didnt have time to finish as bullets broke the window and and glass went everywhere. "Devin, You need to lose them," she said. Her voice was quiet and and calm. Her hand gripped the seat so hard that her fingers where white. Never in her life had she thought she would be here. Never.

"yea," she said, " i can," her voice was cracked. "No, i cant swim," Hiccup anounced. "But i can run. I can meet you."

"Just trust me when i say i can run," he said.
