Best. Idea. Ever.
oh, yeah...I could see lyrics including:
- "give me your number, I'll call you back"
- "please don't call here again"
- "dinner time"
Or maybe more as a tribute to telemarketers, those trying to eek out a living doing it... call after call after... rejection after rejection... hang up after hang up......

I've been there. Call centers are brutal...
i love that idea! a song from the telemarketers point of view, asking for sympathy.
"Never call at this time again!" (From the Addicted to Lost commercial)

This is a good idea.....
!!!!!!!!!!PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!
I think this is a fantastic idea!!!
Great idea! Those telemarketer calls are so annoying.
I wish I had seen this earlier.

Deleted my own thread:

I worked a Telemarketing gig for three weeks last year.

I didn't get canned, but I wasn't making enough appointments and it was slowly killing me. But the ones who were good, were GOOD.

There needs to be a song commemorating (or infuriating) the hardest-working Ice-to-Eskimo salesmen (or women) ever.

My job was pretty simple- dial numbers and pitch a non-sales appointment to the person who you were trying to reach. I got receivers slammed in my ear, constant fax machines, people telling me to "shove off", etc. But the people who knew what they were doing could make between six and ten appointments per day. We were lagging one afternoon, and one of the top agents said to my manager- "Would you like me to get the next appointment?"

And then, of course, she did.

If you need inspiration, PM- I'll see what I still have from the job. The main thing is confidence, persuasion, and rebuttals.

>_>

Yes, Rebuttals. Like saying "Don't hang up yet!" only in a completely different attention-grabbing way.

But I know it's a challenge you'd make awesome.
Outbound call centers are brutal.

Inbound's SO much easier.

Agreed. Outbound telemarketing is no fun at all. When you think about, it's really kind of an interesting scenario... the telemarketer doesn't want to be making the call while the person at the other end doesn't want to take the call... It's a special breed of human that can thrive in that environment...

Oh wow! I sort of forgot about this discussion, I posted it so long ago! haha
But I'm glad you all like the idea, and I agree, I also like the idea of the song being from a telemarketers point of view asking for sympathy. :]
