ADDITIONAL  HELPFUL  ADVICE:

Before using the complimentary phrase "Nice boots" just be sure to glance down at her feet and be sure she is, in fact, wearing boots.  Otherwise your statement might be mistaken and could result in a slap.

I don't have any boots for anyone to compliment on. haha

If someone was really AWESOME, You wouldn't say, "Nice boots" but you would say, "Nice Mythical shoes!"  ;)

re:  BOOT LIKING

It just dawned on me today that my daughter and her friends have been "liking boots" since long before R&L introduced us to the idea.  Although Rhett says he used the "I like your boots" smooth move even way back in his college days at NC State, we fans first discovered it in this very early episode from the first season of GMM.

The movie ALL ABOUT STEVE starring Sandra Bullock was released at theaters in September 2009 . . . a full two and a half years before this GMM . . . and the girls have been telling each other "I like your boots" with an appropriate overly dramatic accent ever since.

I wonder if this is where R&L really got the idea from too.

Witness the short scene below:

It is indeed a sad day in GMM history if Rhett has to borrow jokes from a Sandra Bullock movie. I feel mildly betrayed...

:-P

I'm not quite convinced that's where he got it from, at least not consciously. It seems common enough that he could have come up with it on his own, though maybe he heard the phrase being used by others, like your daughter, and just had it on the back of his mind.

JILL WAGNER UPDATE:

Tonight while cruising around the TV networks I happened upon two episodes of Jill & Dad's America, a new show on The Travel Channel - - not much info available on the network website, but check your local listings for future showings.

Warning: Prepare for real North Carolina accents and the kind of jokes you'll only hear while driving cross-country with your retired Dad

Summary: Jill Wagner and her dad, David, take a wild RV cross-country road trip across America.

Ep.1 ~ July 4th Blowout

Jill and dad's epic RV trip starts in NC with cowboys, goats, and a flat tire.

Ep. 2 ~ Bourbon Balls & Greased Pigs

Jill and dad cruise Kentucky for kangaroos, bourbon balls and greased pigs.
