Any other languages?
I've noticed that in one of the old livekasts (the April 9th 2009 livekast, to be exact) that Link says "As-sallum Alaykum" which means "peace be with you" in Arabic. This caught me by surprise (in a good sense lol) and I'm just wondering how did he know that? Are there any other languages the dynamic duos know? Italian perhaps?...
And to all the mythical beasts out there, what other language do you know besides your native one? e.g. I speak English but I know a little bit of Arabic, French and Italian :)

wow that's a good mix of European languages! lol i'm "exceptionally" ok when it comes to reading Arabic, but understanding it? no way!
Even though i remember "a speck" of French, i'd like to learn it in a course. It'll definitely help me if i ever go to Lebanon lol

As a choral music education major, I have to take diction classes (how to speak another language... not to be confused with actually learning it!). So, I can read German, Italian, and French pretty well, even if I don't really know what I am saying. My favorite language to sing in is German, even more than English. We also frequently sing in Latin in choir.

I've got a friend that's in seminary. I think she's taken over four years of Greek and Hebrew. She can read and speak them both fairly well. I don't know how she does it. It's all Greek to me! ;) *snort!*

That is just so cool! Learning languages fluently takes so much dedication!
I don't think I will ever be very good at it, as I am learning it on my own, but maybe someday I will take classes.

I like speaking in a German accent. It's one of my favorite pastimes with one of my fellow music ed majors. We frequently turn everything into a German accent. Oh, the magic of diction classes!!!

i love singing in Latin too (i'm in the B.C. boys choir in case anyone curious) , i also speak french (9 years in french immersion, so i take gym, science, socials and of course french, in french)

English, of course, as well as decent French (6 years in school, and a best friend from France), but my favourite linguistic acquisition is sign language. I have a cousin who is deaf, so I'm always learning from him & his family, but I also went to college for American Sign Language. Night classes for 5 years -- yukk! But totally worth it! I don't have the vocal ability to sing along to much of anything with my voice, but it's pretty hard to sign out of tune!
