Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Everybody knows songs Like I left my Heart in San Francisco ... New York, New York etc. But what about smaller towns and hamlets don't they deserve songs as well.

I'm thinking songs and Videos such as:

If You Knew Juneau like I knew Juneau, etc

I could see a great series here maybe get AAA or Froders (or some otehr Travel Guide Publisher) to sponsor a series of small town Songs / Tourist videos etc.

Yeah not necessarily small cities just ones that wouldn't normally have songs written about
Des Moines Iowa! How's that for obscure? I need to write this yet, I have never written a song, nor do I play an instrument and or have any musical talent whatsoever. Perhaps poetic reading. I'll call it "Des Moines, and no one cares" or "The forgotten city upon the raccoon" etc.
I'm all for that!!! (I live in said obsure city).

"You know, I never thought I'd make it to that truck stop in Des Moines....but I did." (From "Lil Debbie - an ode" by Rhett and LInk).
This is an awesome idea. The only reason people know about where I'm from (Modesto, Ca) is because George Lucas grew up here and American Graffiti is based on it.

It definitely needs a cool song.
I had to share. No offense intended to anyone, but this is Madison in a nut shell, as nutty as they come. Sing to the tune of your choice at your own risk.

I’m just mad about Madison-
A sunny city that the weirdos won;
Obscurity’s no match
For the politics we hatch,
So liberals and atheists can thrive.
Whose idea was it, Clive,
To build a city scape
In the middle of four lakes
On an tongue twist strip of land
No wider than a medium rubber band.

It’s ‘isthmus,’ ‘isthmus,’
Rhymes with ‘Christmas,’
But we don’t celebrate for fear
The liberals will sneer
Or the atheists will sue
Like they normally do.
If this idea ever comes to fruition, please take Lizard Lick, North Carolina into consideration.
I grew up there!

Toad Suck, AR. It hasn't had a song written about it yet!
Vulcan Alberta, Canada or Meat Cove Nova Scotia Canada
I was going to double-dog-dare you to come up with enough rhymes to write a song about Bogalusa, LA.

There have been at least two memorable instrumental songs - - "Bogalusa Boogie" by the late great King of Zydeco Clifton Chenier and the New Orleans jazz classic "Bogalusa Strut" that's been covered by everybody and their brother. But it's just been very difficult to find the right words.

Until now, that is. It seems that a minstrel by the name of "Foots Quinn" has finally penned a tune worthy of the title "Bogalusa Natives" as a tribute to all the folks down at the paper mill. Put on your white sheet and pointy hat, then settle back for some foot stompin good music!
How about Atqasuk, Alaska, never been there, just saw it on google, but it's fun to say! Atqasuk, Atqasuk!
I've also been to (or through) each of these locations:

- - Boutte (pronounced "boo-tee"), Bunkie, Cut Off and Dry Prong, LA
- - Bat Cave and Hanging Dog, NC
- - Chunky, MS
- - Bucksnort, TN
Kent, PA, where my nieces live. Population about 95. Town is so small that they can't hire a postman so everyone has to walk to the post office each day. http://pennsylvania.hometownlocator.com/zip-codes/data,zipcode,1575...
