Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Hey guys!

I’m sure most of you have seen us roll playing in the Komm chat. ^^ Well, Zach and I have decided to make one here, in a discussion, for those who are interested in a more long-term RPG story.

Firstly, it might seem like there are a lot of rules, but they are mostly just common sense and will not inhibit your ability to control your character. Also, even though we are “Game Masters” we will not abuse that power, in fact we will even kill our own characters if we feel it is correct. This RPG story is meant to be fun, do not take anything that happens in it personal, no matter what. Have a good time, use your creativity as much as you can, and just enjoy the story as it unfolds.

Rules!

  1. You can have multiple Characters! They don’t have to be all on the side of good, or all on the side of bad, you can have both, either, or neither.
  2. You may not control another person’s named character.
  3. You may not kill another person’s named character.
  4. All decisions regarding final fates of characters are to be decided by the GMs (game masters).
  5. Try to keep the story central.
  6. GMs are able to ban participants.
  7. One post at a time! If you submit a post in the RPG story, don’t post again directly afterwards, wait for another person to post in between. If you address another person’s character, wait for that person to answer.
  8. All characters must be able to die. No invincible characters. Ever!
  9. Try your best to keep everything is pace.
  10. No destroying the world.

Sub rules

1. The world is an Earth like situation, which means that you cannot fly. Of course, some characters with wings, and magic powers are able to fly, but real-world physics still apply..
2. Mythical Beasts are allowed. Meaning you can have dragons, phoenixes, and other types of creatures that may or may not exist in the real world.
3. This is a time period similar the middle ages, which means, there are no guns.
4. There is magic on this world. (Such as the use of fire, water, earth, lightning, light, and dark magics.) Of course, standard use of magic applies.
5. You are allowed to create a character of a different race, such as the races: orcs, drow, elves, and dwarves, among others. Try to keep your character’s personality similar to the characteristics of its race. For example, since dwarves like to eat, to not make an anorexic dwarf.
6. There are the different kinds of magic users, such as: wizards, sorcerers, druids, warlocks, clerics, necromancers, magicians, etc. If you are going to use a magic user you must stay within the boundaries for that type of magic user. As an example Necromancers cannot heal people, it just doesn’t work.
7. Creatures that are summoned using something such as an artifact will have to return to their plane of existence after a period of time depending on the strength of the creature summoned. But if a creature is summoned through a ritual (such as a demon) they can say on the plane of existence they were summoned on until banished, or summoned elsewhere.
8. Magic is not infinite, it relies on the strength of the user and it takes a price for its use. The stronger the magic the more the energy it takes to use. If you use magic to start a fire, and then the fire starts the trees on fire, it will take less magic than for you to try to start all the trees on fire on your own. Magic will also take more energy to travel a further distance.
9. Weapons can be enchanted, although those weapons are rare. Weapons that are enchanted must be enchanted as they are made, they cannot be enchanted after they are finished being made.
10. If the game masters have missed any rules, or feel that there needs to be more, they can add rules for the sake of keeping the story fun, entertaining, and fair.

Now that the rules are all out there nice and pretty, I would like to ask something..

Mods, if you would like us to move this discussion to another, external, site, I would very happily do so, if it becomes bothersome in any way. I would however, very much like to ask that you do not delete it. If we could have a warning first, so we have a chance to save the work, I would be very, very thankful.

Okay! So enough boring stuff, it's time to have some fun with this! Just post below with your addition to the story. Be creative, be fair, and especially, have fun!!

Aayla went back to where she was cleaning and let herself process what had just happened. She looked over to where that man hand been standing. He was gone, oh well, at least she didn't have him staring at her anymore. Aayla started to think about Xylia before she came and totally flipped out on her. Who was that young man she was with? She thought about looking over to see if he was still there but she had already given one awkward smile and was still very distressed at the events of tonight. And what happened here? Aayla had so many questions like what in the world Xylia was talking about. "Poor girl needs to take a break.", Aayla sighed and went back to work still processing all that had happened this crazy night.
Xylia saw her friend wasn't ready to talk to her. She went back to where she had left Macon. "I'm sorry... I had to talk to her. But... I'm back now. She's sort of confused."
"I'm a human," Myra said. "and well... I don't know much about bloodelves, so I didn't really have a reason to be scared of you." She really wasn't scared of Elara or her sisters. They seemed like nice people. She thought about why she came in the first place and realized she didn't know what exactly had drawn her to the room and nudged her to help, but she was glad she came. "I just like to help people."
Aayla wiped the sweat off her head, "Few this is hard work" She thought. She set her hand on her hip and realized she had a dagger hanging there. "Since when have I had a dagger!" Aayla got up nervously, she went into the supplies closet to examine the dagger. When she got there she slowly slid it out from her sheath. Blood! It was completely covered in blood! She stood paralyzed, analyzing (her) blood covered knife. "This can't be mine! How can this be mine?!?"
Aayla was still shocked at what she had just discovered. Aayla suddenly remember what Xylia said, "You could've been killed...", "What was Xylia talking about! I need to talk to her! I need to find out what's going on?!?" Aayla nearly sprinted out of the supplies closet. Distressed she looked desperately to talk with her friend.

"Dear Loraden, if I knew exactly what you were, well then, that would ruin all my fun, wouldn't it?" Gallimond smiled. Loraden was beginning to grate him a bit, but he would get over it. He always did. "And I know you won't destroy me, boy. You wouldn't dare. Besides, even if you did, death is my friend. I have visited it often before. Does it appear to have fazed me?"

[NOTE: he's not immortal, don't worry, gm's. he can die. he's just being mysterious and all.]

------------------------------

Xylia turned around, only to hear Macon mumbling to himself. She gazed at him curiously, letting him finish. He appeared not to notice that she had seen him. Strange... he talks to himself? But it seems so- so conversational. She pushed the thought aside. "Aayla... my best friend. I've known her forever."

As if on cue, Aayla came running out of the closet, clutching a bloody knife.

"Be right back," Xylia told Macon.

She ran to her friend. "Aayla... follow me." She half dragged her friend back into the supply closet. "What is it?"

"Xylia what is going on!" Aayla was still in shock about the knife, "What were you talking about! I could of died? I have no idea what's going on! I'm just a waitress at the jolly bear barely feeding herself!?! Do you think I murdered someone and from shock forgot? Do you think someone try'd to kill me?!?!" Aayla was talking non stop and barely took a break to breathe. Aayla finally calmed down enough to give Xylia a chance to hopefully straighten things out for Aayla.

Varus stood looking over the forested hills of Teutoburgiensi,  A determined look was on his face, his guard standing behind him. His guard, a strong unit of two class two units and four class three, all with grim looks on their face, contrary to their young-looking faces. Varus turned to fac'e them.

"Well, shall we enter this forest, or go around?"

"Though our orders say otherwise there is great danger in that forest. I feel it..." Warned Boden, one of the class threes.

"You're just afraid." Said Dagio with a smirk. " I know there's nothing there to fear, they don't even know we're here.

"However-" Said Gaib thoughtfully, " Raelin wouldn't even know if we went around. Not to mention we could actually gain some.. 'recruits' from the countryside to help us. Nobody like that lives in the forest."

"You're right Gaib." Said Varus before anyone could say anything otherwise. " We will go around. The squad began climbing down the steep hilside. Suddenly, a bright light flashed in front of Varus.

"You fools!" Spoke a figure, shrouded in a grey mist. " I gave you an oder. Follow through with it, or pay the consequences."

Varus turned and stumbled backwards when he saw who it was. His eyes went wide, and he studdered. "My lord Raelin, I didn't expect the honour-"

"Shut it." Commanded Raelin. " Go through the forest like ordered. Meet me at the designated locaton, and do not deviate."

Varus straightened. "Yes sir. Men, fall in!" The squad fell into formation as ordered. Raelin looked at the group judgmentally. One more bad move, Varus, and you will regret it for your life.

" Understood, sir." Raelin then walked off through the hills, which were filling with a thick smoke.

Varus and his men met with Captain Maso, outside of Ignus-Tempestati. Maso gave the report. "Sir, the village is burning, we've captured ten men, and the rest have been killed, as you commanded."

"Excellent job Captain." Said Varus, pleased. "Raelin would be proud. Torture the men, get every bit of information you can out of them. This land will become known to us, no matter the cost.

“Who? I don’t know his name.” Seth replied to Samenta’s question. “All I know is that he killed many before I killed him.” Seth laughed, “He could have been having a bad day, yes. But I know when a bloodelf is outraged. And just a bit ago I figured out how I could help them. Regardless of that, though, he had it coming to him.” Seth stopped. He looked at Samanta, trying to remember what race he was. He could remember a little, but not much. “My parents were…” He trailed off with a sigh. “My parents were elves. One, my mother, was a moon elf. My father, on the other hand, was a drow.” He finished. He smiled, as he shook his head. He still didn’t understand how it worked out, but that was life. He was what he was; there was no changing it.

(Sorry I didn't do much here... I am having trouble figuring out where I am going from this point in time.)

Gallimond turned immediately to where Minion was. "Vile creature!" he yelled, kicking Minion across the room and against the wall.* "You can tell whoever sent you that Duke Gallimond of  does not let a little surface wound faze him!"

He turned back to his previous conversation, realizing too late he had lost his composure in front of Loraden.

"Er... yes... the energy. I know you are powerful, Loraden, you have proven that." Inflating the ego... "but you don't need to keep on bluffing just to intimidate me. It won't work and you know it." His servant was already tending to his leg. All was going well.

He passed a note to one of his most trusted slaves. On it was written a message for Macon, one that might hopefully inspire him to gain the trust of the girl, before it was too late.

------------------------------------------

Xylia stared in shock as her friend ran out with a bloody knife in her hand. "Aayla, Aayla. Please calm down!" She led her friend back into the closet. "You can't just run out with a bloody knife and expect people to react normally. Now, I hope you didn't use that just now, because the blood isn't fresh."

Finally, Xylia noticed her friend's confusion. "Aayla..." she hugged her friend. "You really don't remember, do you? It's mind boggling..." Xylia pulled chairs for both of them. She sat down and began to tell the story, way from the beginning when Moe had abandoned them for who knows where.

Surprised, Myra jumped up as the arrow flew in through the window and hit Elara. She spun to look out the window and saw a glimpse of someone as the ran around the corner. Just a second later, that person was in the room, standing over Norara, talking to her. Then just as quickly as he had come in, he was gone.

"No!" Myra screamed as she saw what he did. This was all her fault. She should have done something, should have stopped him, but she had been frozen in fear when it happened. The bloody scene was sickening and she turned away, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Who was that man? and who did he think he was just coming in and killing two sweet girls? Myra fell to her knees and buried her face in her hands. She had to get away, had to tell someone. But at the moment she couldn't move.

Rilien was in the entrance of the inn when the roof was torn off. He ducked and looked up to see a huge golden owl holding a limp Loraden. Acting fast, he pulled out his sword and ran after the owl. He ran up the stairs and climbed the to the top of the roofless wall and jumped, reaching for the owl. He grasped a talon with one hand, and hung there dangling for a second, as the owl flapped its wings and rose higher in the sky. Rilien grunted and shoved the sword up with his other hand. He felt the sword make contact with the owl and sink in. The owl screeched and loosened its grip, pulling away a bloody talon, and both Rilien and Loraden started falling towards the ground.
