Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Hey guys!

I’m sure most of you have seen us roll playing in the Komm chat. ^^ Well, Zach and I have decided to make one here, in a discussion, for those who are interested in a more long-term RPG story.

Firstly, it might seem like there are a lot of rules, but they are mostly just common sense and will not inhibit your ability to control your character. Also, even though we are “Game Masters” we will not abuse that power, in fact we will even kill our own characters if we feel it is correct. This RPG story is meant to be fun, do not take anything that happens in it personal, no matter what. Have a good time, use your creativity as much as you can, and just enjoy the story as it unfolds.

Rules!

  1. You can have multiple Characters! They don’t have to be all on the side of good, or all on the side of bad, you can have both, either, or neither.
  2. You may not control another person’s named character.
  3. You may not kill another person’s named character.
  4. All decisions regarding final fates of characters are to be decided by the GMs (game masters).
  5. Try to keep the story central.
  6. GMs are able to ban participants.
  7. One post at a time! If you submit a post in the RPG story, don’t post again directly afterwards, wait for another person to post in between. If you address another person’s character, wait for that person to answer.
  8. All characters must be able to die. No invincible characters. Ever!
  9. Try your best to keep everything is pace.
  10. No destroying the world.

Sub rules

1. The world is an Earth like situation, which means that you cannot fly. Of course, some characters with wings, and magic powers are able to fly, but real-world physics still apply..
2. Mythical Beasts are allowed. Meaning you can have dragons, phoenixes, and other types of creatures that may or may not exist in the real world.
3. This is a time period similar the middle ages, which means, there are no guns.
4. There is magic on this world. (Such as the use of fire, water, earth, lightning, light, and dark magics.) Of course, standard use of magic applies.
5. You are allowed to create a character of a different race, such as the races: orcs, drow, elves, and dwarves, among others. Try to keep your character’s personality similar to the characteristics of its race. For example, since dwarves like to eat, to not make an anorexic dwarf.
6. There are the different kinds of magic users, such as: wizards, sorcerers, druids, warlocks, clerics, necromancers, magicians, etc. If you are going to use a magic user you must stay within the boundaries for that type of magic user. As an example Necromancers cannot heal people, it just doesn’t work.
7. Creatures that are summoned using something such as an artifact will have to return to their plane of existence after a period of time depending on the strength of the creature summoned. But if a creature is summoned through a ritual (such as a demon) they can say on the plane of existence they were summoned on until banished, or summoned elsewhere.
8. Magic is not infinite, it relies on the strength of the user and it takes a price for its use. The stronger the magic the more the energy it takes to use. If you use magic to start a fire, and then the fire starts the trees on fire, it will take less magic than for you to try to start all the trees on fire on your own. Magic will also take more energy to travel a further distance.
9. Weapons can be enchanted, although those weapons are rare. Weapons that are enchanted must be enchanted as they are made, they cannot be enchanted after they are finished being made.
10. If the game masters have missed any rules, or feel that there needs to be more, they can add rules for the sake of keeping the story fun, entertaining, and fair.

Now that the rules are all out there nice and pretty, I would like to ask something..

Mods, if you would like us to move this discussion to another, external, site, I would very happily do so, if it becomes bothersome in any way. I would however, very much like to ask that you do not delete it. If we could have a warning first, so we have a chance to save the work, I would be very, very thankful.

Okay! So enough boring stuff, it's time to have some fun with this! Just post below with your addition to the story. Be creative, be fair, and especially, have fun!!

Gallimond narrowed his eyes and remained silent for a good minute before speaking. He could tell the boy was uncomfortable. "Fine, I'll give you more time. Just keep in mind, Macon. I didn't hire you to waste my time."

He took a seat on a nearby chair, not waiting for an invitation to stay. "Listen, boy. Here is what you have to do. To get her to tell you something about herself, you have to tell her something first. Tell her the truth, make something up, I don't care. Just make sure it works. Because if it doesn't..." he stood abruptly and lifted Macon off the ground with a single steady hand. He held him elevated by his neck for a second, before releasing him and rushing out the room, leaving his threat unfinished.

----------------------

Xylia returned from looking for Aayla, returning empty handed. Apparently her friend had disappeared as well. She walked back into the inn, only to find some sort of commotion had occured. More damage. Yay.  She started picking up the debris, half hoping someone else would do it for her.

(I don't know what to do with Xylia atm, since I'm busy. I will later, though, but feel free to... interact with her?)

Aayla wakes up in the castle, almost a week has passed. Aayla sat up, her head throbbed, she had a bandage on her arm. She ripped off the bandage, "Yowch!" There was a small bruise. It looks like a needle had been inserted there. Aayla got up and swished her (brown) hair over her shoulders and pulled over her hood.

"What happened?" Aayla mumbled to herself, "Aw man, I gotta get back to the Jolly Bear, maybe they didn't notice I was gone since the bar fight."

Bar fight? The last thing Aayla could remember was the bar fight she had been told about at the Jolly Bear. Aayla got up and headed out of the castle towards the Jolly Bear hoping (Moe) wouldn't be upset with her.

"Why am I even here anyways?"

Myra smiled. "I think she'll be better soon."

"Samenta? She followed the little boy out of the room," she said in reply to Elara's question. She looked up as Dimitri came in, followed by Rilien.

Aayla hopped off Cinnamon and entered the Jolly Bear, she rushed over to the counter to relieve the current waitress.

"I'm sorry I'm late, I lost track of the time." The waitress gave Aayla a startled look. She seemed to shake it off and left her post at the counter. "That was odd..." Thought Aayla. She went ahead and took her post serving meed and beer.

Being so concerned about being late Aayla didn't even see the mess the Jolly Bear was.

"Oh my gosh, what has happened last since I've been here?" Aayla thought, distressed at what might of happened. "I better go help out."

Aayla grabbed some cleaning supplies and rushed to the mess. She accidently bumped a man on the way there and didn't even stop to apologize and continued heading towards the mess.

Aayla suddenly had a strange feeling and looked back at the man, he was just staring at her. He had these eyes that seemed to know of many secrets, he had a very knowing look, like he understood things others didn't. She tried to brush it aside and continued with the mess.

Xylia smiled at Macon, "Thank you. I do need help."  We cleaned in comfortable silence until I saw a lone figure walk into the inn and scare my temporary waitress.

Aayla! I almost hadn't recognized her in her normal form. Where had she been?

"Macon..." she said quietly, "it's my friend. She's back. I have to go to her..."

She walked towards Aayla, unsure whether or not the mysterious Macon was following her or not. [is he? I'm not allowed to control him XD ]

She saw Aayla cleaning, and tapped her on the shoulder. "Where have you been?"

-----------------------------

Gallimond felt the ridiculous man toss him into the air after mumbling some words that probably weren't very important anyway. He yawned as the man spoke. People like him... always think they're so great. I wonder what he's saying? It wasn't that he couldn't understand the words, he just chose not to listen to things that were irrelevant to him. When the man finally grabbed him, Gallimond knew what he was trying to do, and smiled. Aah... I see. The boy is trying to prove a point. He's trying to show me how strong he is. He can toss me into the air. Well, I'll humor him. Who can argue with a free ride home?

That's when his feet left the ground. Gallimond closed his eyes and extended his hands, gliding towards the air peacefully. Not often I get to fly nowadays. He did a couple of turns, letting the cold air caress his face. After a few precious seconds, he landed in front of his castle. Home sweet home. He silently thanked Loraden for the pleasant experience. I should make him angry more often.

Gallimond entertained the idea for a while before deciding it was a good one. Let him have his fun. Let him think he's affected me. The poor boy probably doesn't have anything better to do. He entered his castle and summoned five of his knights. Expendable, but they'll make for a good fight. he told them of Loraden. "I want him dead," he lied.

Then he let them go have their fun.

Aayla turns around and see's Xylia. "Sorry Xylia, I must of lost track of time. I'm real sorry I'm late." Aayla explained distressed. She hated being late for work, Aayla noticed a man a little further back from them who had apparently been helping Xylia. Aayla flashed a quick smile and waited expectantly for a good scolding from Xylia.

Xylia hugged her friend tightly, "YOU! You had me so worried!" She stepped back, "What is your problem? I mean, did you want the other people to find out the truth about you? What if they had killed you?!?! What then?!?! Would I have lost you too?!" She was getting aggravated. "It's been forever! Do you know how long you've been gone since you transformed?!?! You're not just late, Aayla!"

----------------------

Moe woke up in the middle of the forest... How long had he been gone? Right, his money was gone. It was completely quiet. No need to stay here... I have an inn to run. My dear Xylia, all by herself. He smiled at the thought of her working. He was proud of her, though he would never tell her that.

Moe took a few steps, wondering what direction the inn was inn. He blinked, picked a direction, and started walking...

------------------

Gallimond smiled, amused. His plan was working beautifully. It was only a matter of time before Macon betrayed Xylia, and then everything else would begin.

Loraden... he sighed. He got rid of five of his men, but thankfully the imbeciles were among the worst. There was no need to worry, he would soon toy with Loraden more.

Aayla stepped back, "What are you talking about? I'm maybe half an hour late, Killed me! Transformed?!? What are you talking about Xylia, your scaring me... I think you need to take a little break." Aayla stepped back and started to walk away.
Xylia reached for her friend and pulled her back, not letting her leave. "Oh my sweettarts, what did they do to you?!" She put her hand on her friend's forehead. "You honestly don't remember? You've been gone for almost a week! Maybe you need to lie down..."
Aayla looked at Xylia startled, "Xylia I don't know what your talking about but I think (you)  should take a break." Aayla again went to walk away to continue with the mess. She was so flabbergasted she forgot to ask what had happened to the inn.

Gallimond nodded, allowing himself to be surprised for only an instant. A smile slowly crept across his face. "Yes, my trip home was lovely. I decided I should do it more often, but you weren't very good at throwing me. The arc you created was completely out of balance. I had to make amends for that."

"To be honest, I had hoped never to see you again," Gallimond said. "I find your company most unpleasant, as you seem to have the childish need to interfere in everything." Of course, I don't really mind him that much. Just have to let him think he affects me. "Well, Loraden. I do see what you have in your hand. It's very interesting, the black matter. But what's more interesting is that only demons can normally do that. I have to say I'm impressed." Gallimond hoped he was fueling Loraden's ego. That would always be to his advantage.

------------------------

Xylia stood in shock as her friend retreated. She doesn't remember. She thinks I'm insane.

Xylia ran over to where her friend was cleaning. "Listen, Aayla. I can tell you the exact day it is today. But I don't want to confuse you. Just know I'm glad you're back and I'm sure we can figure out what happened."

Aayla chose not to listen to her, apparently, and kept on walking
