Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Hey guys!

I’m sure most of you have seen us roll playing in the Komm chat. ^^ Well, Zach and I have decided to make one here, in a discussion, for those who are interested in a more long-term RPG story.

Firstly, it might seem like there are a lot of rules, but they are mostly just common sense and will not inhibit your ability to control your character. Also, even though we are “Game Masters” we will not abuse that power, in fact we will even kill our own characters if we feel it is correct. This RPG story is meant to be fun, do not take anything that happens in it personal, no matter what. Have a good time, use your creativity as much as you can, and just enjoy the story as it unfolds.

Rules!

  1. You can have multiple Characters! They don’t have to be all on the side of good, or all on the side of bad, you can have both, either, or neither.
  2. You may not control another person’s named character.
  3. You may not kill another person’s named character.
  4. All decisions regarding final fates of characters are to be decided by the GMs (game masters).
  5. Try to keep the story central.
  6. GMs are able to ban participants.
  7. One post at a time! If you submit a post in the RPG story, don’t post again directly afterwards, wait for another person to post in between. If you address another person’s character, wait for that person to answer.
  8. All characters must be able to die. No invincible characters. Ever!
  9. Try your best to keep everything is pace.
  10. No destroying the world.

Sub rules

1. The world is an Earth like situation, which means that you cannot fly. Of course, some characters with wings, and magic powers are able to fly, but real-world physics still apply..
2. Mythical Beasts are allowed. Meaning you can have dragons, phoenixes, and other types of creatures that may or may not exist in the real world.
3. This is a time period similar the middle ages, which means, there are no guns.
4. There is magic on this world. (Such as the use of fire, water, earth, lightning, light, and dark magics.) Of course, standard use of magic applies.
5. You are allowed to create a character of a different race, such as the races: orcs, drow, elves, and dwarves, among others. Try to keep your character’s personality similar to the characteristics of its race. For example, since dwarves like to eat, to not make an anorexic dwarf.
6. There are the different kinds of magic users, such as: wizards, sorcerers, druids, warlocks, clerics, necromancers, magicians, etc. If you are going to use a magic user you must stay within the boundaries for that type of magic user. As an example Necromancers cannot heal people, it just doesn’t work.
7. Creatures that are summoned using something such as an artifact will have to return to their plane of existence after a period of time depending on the strength of the creature summoned. But if a creature is summoned through a ritual (such as a demon) they can say on the plane of existence they were summoned on until banished, or summoned elsewhere.
8. Magic is not infinite, it relies on the strength of the user and it takes a price for its use. The stronger the magic the more the energy it takes to use. If you use magic to start a fire, and then the fire starts the trees on fire, it will take less magic than for you to try to start all the trees on fire on your own. Magic will also take more energy to travel a further distance.
9. Weapons can be enchanted, although those weapons are rare. Weapons that are enchanted must be enchanted as they are made, they cannot be enchanted after they are finished being made.
10. If the game masters have missed any rules, or feel that there needs to be more, they can add rules for the sake of keeping the story fun, entertaining, and fair.

Now that the rules are all out there nice and pretty, I would like to ask something..

Mods, if you would like us to move this discussion to another, external, site, I would very happily do so, if it becomes bothersome in any way. I would however, very much like to ask that you do not delete it. If we could have a warning first, so we have a chance to save the work, I would be very, very thankful.

Okay! So enough boring stuff, it's time to have some fun with this! Just post below with your addition to the story. Be creative, be fair, and especially, have fun!!

Myra took the dagger carefully. She didn't like the idea of using it to kill or hurt someone...

She decided not to ask who "she" was and just followed quietly.

Xylia contained her anger, deciding slapping the man a third time would only result in her possibly getting harmed.

She looked him in the eye with a determined gleam, "I don't care who you are or where you came from, but you do not scare my customers away! You stay away from my inn or I will personally find someone to keep you away!"

Xylia stood gauging the man's reaction, satisfied. From now on, no one would mess with her and get away with it.

Aayla walked out of the supply closet feeling better, but Wait? Is that Xylia with Red? "Oh no, she's not safe, I can't go over there... But I can't leave her alone. I don't even know if Samenta is gone, Xylia's my friend and I can't leave her there alone."

Aayla saw Xylia slap one of the men,

"uh oh, this can't be good. Xylia may be tough but right now she doesn't know what she's getting into, I have to go over there."

Aayla crept over to where they were having there argument and saw Xylia slap one of the men again. Aayla intersected trying to get Xylia out of there.

"Xylia..." Aayla's voice was becoming hoarse again as the terror inside her continued to brew with in her. "We're get...ting a lot... of cus..tomers and us... two waitre..ses can't handle it alone in side." Aayla gave Xylia a knowing look hoping she would capitulate.

This whole time Aayla had tried not to look at Red but she finally did and she felt an adrenaline shock with in her and felt her eyes flickering blue. Aayla turned away hoping Red didn't see.

Thankfully Red didn't seem to notice her terror and left on his horse ,with a devious smirk on his face. Aayla was safe for now, but when ever she came near those associated with or who was a blood elf exhaustion came over her. This time it was different, she felt an adrenaline shock through her, and she didn't like it. Unless she had to run away that is, then it was very useful.

Aayla looked over to Xylia and tried to figure out what she was thinking, "Are you ok?" Is all Aayla could think to say.

Xylia trembled as Red rode away. What had gotten into her? She smiled briefly. No one would mess with her anymore, just because she was the manager of the inn. She heard her friend next to her, asking her if she was okay.

Xylia smiled, "Of course I am. He had it coming." But it was foolish of me... She started trembling again, wondering what would have happened had Red retaliated. After a moment of comfortable silence, she turned to her friend, "Come on. Let's get out of here. We need to make sure you're okay, above all."

Aayla was a little worried about how confident Xylia was about this cold blooded killer. Never the less they're ok and that's what matters.

"I'm actually ok... we better get inside and help the rest of the staff. Boy it's packed tonight."

Aayla walked back inside and manned her station.

Aayla was at the bar preparing mead and beer (their specialty) suddenly Aayla had a hard time breathing. She grasped her heart. Everything seemed to be spinning! There was no sign of Samenta anywhere though! Her eyes turned that piercing blue and her face as white as a ghost! Her nails turned black! Aayla Ducked under the bar struggling to breathe! "Xylia!" Aayla screamed, but it came out as no more then a hoarse whisper! "help..." Aayla passed out.

Xylia heard the glass of mead crash to the ground when Aayla did. She immediately rushed towards her, only to find her pale friend crumpled on the ground. Oh no... Aayla! Is she dead? She checked her pulse. She was still alive, but she had to do something. The supplies closet... I have some herbs there, a warm cloth, anything!!!!!

Xylia half-carried her friend to the supply closet in a hurry. Moe's right. I am getting stronger. But why?

She didn't have time to wonder, she had to help her friend. She mixed up some herbs and stirred them with some warm water. She gave some to Aayla to drink, then even sprinkled some on her cold, pale face for good measure.

Please work, please work! She put a sack of grain under her friend's head. "Aayla! Wake up Aayla! Please," Xylia cried, "just wake up..."

By this time Aayla's hair and nails where black her skin was as pale as a ghosts and her eyes were piercing blue. Aayla opened her eyes and gasped. Suddenly she felt strong, but why? She felt the adreniline running through her body, she felt like a different person. Her skin, her eyes, her nails weren't flickering back to normal. They were staying that way!

Aayla sat up, "I don't know what's happening Xylia" Aayla said worried. Aayla got up and smeared her hands in the dirt that had accumulated on the top shelf. She started to wipe her hands on her face, smearing it all over. She looked in a barrel of water, it almost looks natural.

Aayla pulled out a dagger and handed it to Xylia, "Keep this close Xylia" She then proceeded to take out another and put it in the sheath the first one had originally been in. She acted as if this was all routine, completely normal!

"I need to take off work, people are going to be wondering how I suddenly changed from a brown eyed brunett to this." Aayla put on her gloves and proceeded to head out to one of the far out tables. Leaving Xylia to process what had just happened.

Aayla sat down in one of the far corners and pulled her hood up. She saw Samenta walk in, but instead of exhaustion she felt the adreniline running through her veins, and she was liking it...

She spotted a purple jewel, she felt even stronger. Her eyes widened. Aayla kept a close eye on Samenta as she walked in, her dagger at the tip of her finger.

Xylia stood, holding the dagger in her hands, completely in shock. She stood still for a moment, until she noticed Samenta staring at her, asking her what happened.

"I... I don't..." she stuttered. This is Samenta. Aayla said I couldn't trust her. "I don't know. I'll be right back, I can't talk about it now." She rushed after Aayla, wondering what was going to happen to her friend next.

Aayla saw Xylia nervously coming towards her. She got up and sat down next to someone else, Aayla quickly gave Xylia a look and ordered some mead. "So would you like some more beer?" Aayla asked the already drunken man all the while keeping an eye on Samenta and Xylia.
