Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Rhett and Link have announced that they will be going on a road trip next week. They are stopping in EVERY state that they drive through EXCEPT for Missouri. I don't know if there are any other Missourian Rhett and Link fans out there, but this was very upsetting to my brother-in-law and I as we watch Rhett and Link faithfully and consider ourselves to be pretty loyal fans. We both have our own choice of Rhett and Link shirts, mine being the 80's shirt and my brother-in-law Ryan's being the "The bigger the better" t-shirt. We also BOTH have the fire hydrant shirt from the t-shirt wars video. PLEASE if you are a Missourian, or if you just understand what it feels like to be left out, help us convince Rhett and Link to STOP in Missouri! They hit two major towns on their way through and they can surely stop for a short break to stretch their legs and meet their fans!

so let me see if I understand . . . they're stopping at the Illinois Welcome Center 15-20 miles from downtown St. Louis and then they drive 5 1/2 hours across your home state to stop at the Oklahoma Welcome Center just 5 miles over the state line near Joplin . . . okay that means from the center of the State of Missouri you could be at either location in 3 hours or less (forget about Rock Port - - that's really Nebraska East)

I'm in Dallas and the drive to Amarillo is about 6 hours - - - forget about it if you're a fan from Houston or El Paso, that's definitely an overnighter.

WHAT WAS THE QUESTION AGAIN?

It's sad, because they are only 24 hour away from where I live. I could get there  if I follow a gas truck and wear depends. They could do the same. I live at the bottom of Mt Rainer. I hope they will consider going up to WA.

P.S. not meaning to sound harsh with my comment above.  I hope you don't hold ill feelings of neglect and will get to see the guys on the road as they travel thru the state.  Personally, if I were you (bet you're glad that one's not true) I would do what  Kendra is planning and meet the guys at the earlier stop so that way you can carpool down the road back towards your home.

Here is the GROUP page with discussions for each of the planned stopping points:

I live in Louisiana. trust me. I feel your pain. :( Every place they stop is like 12 hours from here. :( It doesnt have to be on this trip, but RHETT AND LINK PLEASE DO A TOUR IN THE MID TO SOUTHERN AREA PLEASE> I WANNA DRIVE IT, BUT MY MOM WOULD HAVE TO. The most I'd (Mom) would drive would be 6 to 8 hours. :(
Yes, I understand that TONS of fans are not going to get to see Rhett and Link on this trip, but thats because there are TONS of states that Rhett and Link are not going ot be driving through. If they are going to be IN STATE why not stop for a bathroom break? Maybe some Taco Bell? They could sing the Fast Food Theme Song! IDK. I just think it is rude to exclude one of the states they will be driving through.
Meh too :|

Call it "Fly-over-State" insecurity. See I could understand if they were in a hurry and therefore couldn't make stops  in every state and were just trying to get as far as they could and wherever they felt best to stop then so be it. But considering they're making it a point to stop in every state except for Missouri then it feels like we got left out. Look at the distance on the map from say the stops in Indiana to Illinois or the stops Texas to New Mexico. If time and distance were a factor why not just skip New Mexico and drive straight through to Flagstaff?

Yes Gumbo123 we could drive there assuming we live in the center of the state but some of us live a little north but that's besides the point, why should we Missourians have to leave the state? Like I said, it's a little bit of "fly-over-state" insecurity and being left out. Heck I'm still waiting for them to add to their BBQ song to include Kansas City, best in the country, BBQ.

Well okay then. . . now I understand.  First the BBQ and now this? It's obvious that R&L, like most Americans, just really hate Missouri.

Just kidding of course - - - buy some wood, build a bridge and get over it.  If you can make it to a stopping spot in under 3 hours just feel lucky.

Yes Missouri is hated by most Americans and I'll never understand why. It's not like we club baby seals for fun. And Justin Beiber's Canadian, not Missourian, so I don't know where the hate comes from.

Seriously people, this road trip is to attract really real mythical beasts who are willing to travel day and night to go and meet Rhett and Link. There will probably be other trips for you to go meet them. You shouldn't cry just because they're not coming to your front door!
