Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

Hi Mythical Beasts,

I was just wondering if there is going to be a project done for Rhett's birthday this year? I've seen the previous books he has gotten and being a relatively new Mythical beast I would love the opportunity to be involved in the next one.

I am going to be sending him a piece of art separately that I should get finished in time. (Need to get back to it!) If it ever got shown on Thursdays mail or on his birthday show, I think I would die.

Anyway just wondering, if there is going to be a group created, as I searched for one and couldn't find it.

Maybe it's too early, maybe I'm too eager, but I don't know how long these things take to put together.

Well, that's all for now. :)

Oh! I am definitely in!!

I feel like joining in :3

As someone who was features in Link's 2015 book and Rhett's 2015 book, I'd love to pitch in to this! I hated the artwork i did for his last birthday book, so i want to apologize for my bad art style for last time with a way better one XD. But i have a few ideas to pitch in myself.

• I think we can make this book as a team effort? Maybe one person makes sure everyone turns in their art to them and jokes and stuff by email, one person could recieve the actual gifts by mail box or po box (if we do gifts), and someone else and the last person can recieve both the artwork, jokes, etc. and irl gifts and put it all together! I did my boppity boop boop research and found on Mixedbook (a freelance photo book and more site) that a Hardback Portrait sized (the one that works best) photo book is only around 40$. Not a bunch huh? I would totally be in for collect the artwork and jokes and stuff! :D

• Maybe the book could have themes that we can base it off of? Maybe like sections of the book could be/are based off of on of his hobbies, and each section could be made up of artwork and the ideas Heather thought of?

• Also at the end of the book we could make a large poem made of puns out of hobbies he likes? To go with the whole joke spectrum.

Thats all i can think of, i totally want to help out this year! It would be incredible to do aomething for him again!! Please get back to me soon as you can!

I have an extra binder that could be useful for the art and the poems.

I definitely wanna join in!

I'd still love to incorporate some jokes in the book somewhere. Maybe each person can come up with one with their own page and it can either be cropped and positioned on their page or we can have a separate section for them, whichever way will look better or what people would prefer.

Or if there's a lot of art/letter/poem submissions, the jokes can be a separate book, or incorporated into a separate kind of thing.

I'd definitely join in!!

I'll try my best to contribute :D

Are you going to send him the art through Twitter or through this website? I actually want to help out in anyway I can.  :).  I can definitely help out! xD

All the help and ideas on this has been wonderful. Rhett and Link really do have truly dedicated Mythical beasts. One thing I forgot to mention was that I do not live in America, but in the U.K. So If I'm going to even think about doing this I think I need a stateside collaborator. Someone that can get stuff from american websites and american mythical beasts if they have made stuff that they may want to include in Rhett's gift and then ship it internally. Otherwise I have to get it sent from america to the U.K. just to send it all the way back again. I can gather any fan stuffs from the U.K Mythical beasts and then post it all in one go to my stateside collaborator.

I was thinking we could make like a little birthday box for Rhett. We know he likes loads of little gifts. I think it would be cool to have one large box and then inside that all the gifts individually wrapped. I like the wood watch you suggested Heather, stuff like that would be cool to see him wearing on GMM.(for the wrapping of a wood item, I'd have to put wood you? on it somewhere)

Also I've looked into books and something like one of these would be cool: http://www.mixbook.com/everyday-photo-books?pg[]=square&order=recency%20desc

I mean all stuff like that can be sent digitally and I can organise it into the book.

Anyway, I think the deadline should be the 19th - 23rd of September as suggested by Heather. We need to get a wriggle on. And I need to finish my Hawkman art work, as I'd love to personally send that for his birthday too.

Wow, I've rambled again. I tend to do that. anyway, any U.S. Mythical beast willing to help, or more than one, would be greatly appreciated. Let's try and make this Birthday as special as possible for Rhett, we all know he deserves it.

I think the birthday box is a great idea! I only worry if people can send their items in time.

I would love to help send the box when it's completed. (I live in NC, it would only take a few days, about 3-4, to send to LA).

They both got "birthday books" last year, but I guess they wouldn't mind having some more from people who weren't beasts last year, but are this year! I did photo prints for Link, just to change things up, but you know what, the full page books look even better. (and that gift was kinda rushed out of worry). Anyway, the art book would be awesome. I'd say we do either or of the projects, or something else if anyone comes up with anything.

Maybe some people can discuss ideas at their Mythicons today!

I am not very artistic, I can write a letter, but I did that for his last book. I am not creative at all. I would almost have to purchase something for him and send it to someone and put it in the box. Others that cannot send physical mail can do digital mail, art etc. And somehow coordinate with Heather so that you can send the digital book that you put together the same time she send the physical box of goodies to him. Sometimes, it feels easier to send separate gifts but a compiled gift from "folks from the Kommunity" seems to get their attention a little better. They either mention it on the show, or show it on their social media, like Link did with Heather's project.
