I have this dream that someday one of you or each of you (Link or Rhett) will host Saturday Night Live. Now, this might be a really obvious question, or it might be a really ambiguous question! I don't know! Perhaps you've got a friend who knows a friend in NYC - so never say never, right? Or maybe, you know, SNL isn't the "scene" you want to be "seen" in... I guess I should stop assuming things, and let you send over an answer! So what do you say? Hosting SNL? A possibility in a foreseeable future? Or a no-go?
Sincerely,
Sasha
P.S. I sincerely hope you enjoy your hiatus, it is so well deserved.
hmmmm...I gotta say I'm flattered that you'd even ask this. Never really thought about it. Obviously, we'd have to make some significant leaps and bounds in our career to qualify, and I'm not sure they even accept duos...so I'm not too worried about it. Would we hesitate if asked? Of course not. I'm reasonably certain we could do a better job than Michael Phelps.
It occurred to me you would have to have a new movie debut, or otherwise be extremely popular on television or in the movies, and well, you're popular on the broadcasted internets... but perhaps, Looking for Ms. Locklear will get you a step further into that movie biz...
You're right though, it's a ways off to say. I definitely agree that you and Link would do a much better job at hosting than Michael Phelps and half the stars that come on that show!!
You know, you might even be too good for Saturday Night Live. That's a whole other arena.
Actually, I was recently asked to host SNL but turned it down. "Senior Night Lillington" doesn't bring the exposure one might think. Oh but I knew. I knew.
I was thinking about a similar R&L meets SNL question tonight. Ever notice how the closing music and the "thanks-to"s coincided with the credits segment of SNL?
Funny you say that, I think that little credit segment reminded me of the one on SNL as well... and perhaps inadvertently lead me to ask this question.
i look forward to the day when people who make internet content stop trying to make the jump to television. the internet is its own unique form, and people come here to have a different experience than what you get with mainstream media. snl isnt now what it has been in years passed. but look at andy samberg. hes huge on the internet. i'm fairly sure thats how snl found him. hopefully we see some true pioneers step forward and stick to the internet as their outlet. rhett and link: you have the potential!
