Well, I have conducted a bit of research and interviewed several experts in the field concerning your inquiry, and my conclusion is that "these" come in many different shapes and sizes, only a few of which are illustrated below.

The only constant among the various depictions is that the spelling of these (at least in the English language) holds consistently to "T-H-E-S-E". . . barring typographical error. More research will be forthcoming after I receive back a report from the linguistics experts I have asked to look into this matter to advise what these might look like in other countries around the world. So far I have only heard back from my Norwegian colleague, who reports that these look a lot like "disse" in his homeland.
