I think Link was already mad at himself because of the situation and the fall but he was trying to take it in stride. Then when the guy offered his advice (he could have just been making conversation, what else was he supposed to say?), all Link's pent up anger focused in on that and he got angry at the guy. I was a little taken aback by Link's reaction to that guy at first, but it made sense the more I thought about it. He did look cool in that bandana and sunglasses though. :-)
