RhettandLinKommunity

Home of Rhett & Link fans - the Mythical Beasts!

What if there was a Mythical Meetup in each state on the same day, just to meet other Beasts from your state? Obviously Rhett and Link could not go to them all, but if we decided on a place and time to meet, maybe Rhett and Link could announce it in a video so everyone would know. The meetup would have to take place in the middle of the state, and some of the teeny tiny states could probably just have one meetup for a few states. I don't know about other countries, maybe they could have meetups too.

MythiCon will be held in the U.S. on the third Saturday in August, which is the 17th.

. If you would like to suggest a location, just leave a comment, and you can check out all the official locations so far on the map that Gumbo made: http://batchgeo.com/map/6d47d99bc13fb7cdee0d62839da5181c

UPDATE: MythiCon will officially start at 1 p.m. Also, I need one person from each state to be a "state captain" of sorts. They would do two things:

-One, bring a sign so that any beasts could see it and know where to go;
-Keep the conversation running, making sure that everyone gets to meet each other;
-And bring a medium sized box. Everyone else can bring a little something for the mail boulder (really little, maybe 2" high?) Then the state leader would mail it to Rhett and Link. The leader doesn't have to be the person who suggested the location, although if that person wanted to they would have dibs on the position.

I hope all of you will attend MythiCon 2013 :D

I can't go, unfortunately. We should make this an annual thing, like vidcon is, though. That way, people could go the next year if they can't go in the current year.

K-La V., I think it'd be a good idea to update the description with a very clear statement that people can still suggest meeting places! A lot of people seem to be interested but think that these locations are finite, predetermined by Rhett and Link, and unchangeable.

To everyone in this boat: You can offer to be the host of a location near you! The above areas were chosen because offered by Mythical Beasts just like yourself in this very discussion. If you are disappointed that there is no Mythicon meetup in your area, create one!

TRUE DAT!  I've already said this several times.

Nobody (except me) ever reads through the 22+ pages of discussion before posting

Please add the MythiCon map (with the link to Batch Geo) in the discusison header.  I vow to keep it updated with additional sites as they are committed. Then you could remove the listing of meet sites from the main header.

Done :)
Actually Gumbo, I read through all the pages of discussion :)

I was glad to see how much of this idea grew! :D I'm really excited for this MythiCon. If we are going to make this a yearly thing, someone put me on the maybe list for MythiCon host in California :]

I'm probably going to be at Pike Place Market on August 17. But I'm kind of confused how this is going to work. We will all have to plan some specific place in every food court or mall. I think for the Market we should all meet at the entrance (where the Pike Place Market sign is).

HOPEFULLY, the state leaders have been paying attention to the disscussion, and if they have then they know that they are supposed to bring a poster so everyone knows where to meet.
I was just looking at the update to the MythiCon map, and I happened to see that the location for Connecticut was on Beacon Street, and I was like, "Bacon Street? That has to be the best possible place for a mythical meetup!" Of course, then I realized what it actually said, and I was utterly dissappointed.

@ K-LA V. - - - if you will mouse over the map on page 19 of the thread and COPY it so that it includes the hyperlink to the BatchGeo site then you can post the actual picture in the header instead of just the link.

That might help some others to realize where the locations are.

I wasn't able to figure it out exactly, but I got the link and the picture of the map in the discussion, so that should help.

If anyone is looking for North Carolina MythiCon plans they are located on the top of page 16 of this discussion. If you can make it pleas rsvp (just write that you can come some where in this discussion). If anyone has any ideas let me know.

Somewhere in South Florida, Please!

Preferably 'The Walk' in Coral Springs
