That's a nice try, Ms Doose, but in this case simple mathematical guesstimation will not work. This one goes to Pengaroo.

It was a TRICK QUESTION and an exercise to see how observant those who could find the picture were. Look closely at the sign and you will see that Ms Locklear taught a combined 1st & 2nd grade class - - most likely because Buie's Creek Elementary was very small and in a rural county. One can only assume that the other unnamed lady in the photo is either a teacher's aide, room mom, or perhaps the school principal. However it's impossible to determine from this photo evidence what the mix of grade 1 and 2 students were . . . or for that fact even if all of the students were in attendance on picture day.
