Thanks, and I'm glad you were able to find it under all the dust! I've received your transmission, so everything seems to be operational.

Gracias! Another year older, another year of my time zone STILL being correct. All is well for me here, and I hope it's the same for you.

I will let it slide just this once! Next time you're solidly in terrible-person zone. Thanks. :)

Sounds like you actually got three new jobs, since from what I've heard Breath of the Wild makes you spend as much time as having another one. I've never played it, but if I ever get time to play another long game like that, it's on the top of my list.

Thanks, Jess! I of course go by the CORRECT timezone, but I'll accept the well wishes from your INFERIOR timezone.

How's California?

Good pun, and I don't doubt that you could take me in a fight. The UniSeal, being such a naturally docile creature, is no match for an angered Swamp Chicken, however short it might be. Life's tough in the swamp.

I can see why you'd want to visit the Hobbit houses. Given your height, they'd the be perfect size for you!

You know, writing this when it's -2 outside my thin little walls as I type, I'm having trouble sympathizing with your pain of 30-degree cold. ;) But I guess as a Californian, 30 probably feels like -30 to you, so maybe I'll let it slide.

Four states! I wouldn't have believed it a couple of years ago. At the rate you're going, you may have to up the ante and start -- dare I say it -- venturing out of the country?

What a perfectly timed picture; if you had been a couple hundred miles north, I could have looked up at that moment and seen you!

If you were going to finally venture to the other side of the country, this crazy cold snap is probably the best time for you to have gone. The one time I was in D.C., it was in the dead of July, 100 degrees, and incredibly humid. I would've definitely preferred the snow.

My timezone will always be best, but just think: you'll briefly be in the correct and proper timezone as you fly over the middle of the country. That alone is worth the trip.

I will need documented, concrete proof of this alleged trip, and I will not even entertain the thought that it is true until you've updated me with a full report of your adventures!

Yes! I'm sure that's exactly how it would go down. And thanks for the picture! I see you haven't lost your touch after all these years.

Well, if I'm ever in California, I'll be a careful to avoid saying "almond" now. I wouldn't want to pronounce it in the wrong neighborhood and get jumped by one of the rival Almond Gangs. (Especially one of you AW-mihnd hooligans!)

We certainly don't get as hot as California. I'd say the average summer day is in the low 80s and we have a week or so of over-100 days.

And I've never heard "almond" pronounced in a way other than rhyming with "TALL-fund". I guess the "mon" is kind of a cross between of "min" and "muhn", though.

South Dakota's weather certainly isn't as constant as many places. In fact, using some charts and averages your mathy brain might enjoy, my hometown was determined to have the least-predictable weather in the US.

I'll have to hear the longer version of the story some time, but it sounds like your foot didn't deserve such a nasty break. Though such earnest congratulations from a doctor is commendable, so maybe it was worth it.

Well, if you end up getting to go to Colorado, you'll certainly get your fair share of mountains and snow. And don't feel too bad about never experiencing 10 degrees. It's just like your 26 degrees, except a little colder. Where I live has pretty erratic weather anyway, so it's already back up to a balmy 41 degrees today.

Sorry to hear about your broken foot! What happened?

I assume "JMM" stands for "Jessica's Math Mentoring" and that you were teaching everyone there. If you keep earning free trips, I'm sure you're bound to secure a second out-of-state excursion. Maybe even out of the country!

And feel free to post any of those 800 pictures. I'm sure your frigid, wintery beach would be right on par with the snowy, 10-degree weather we have up here.

I appreciate the update! Hopefully your first plane ride is a good one. A short little flight within the state is probably the perfect amount of time to enjoying flying before the magic wears off and and the reality of being stuck in a cramped metal tube with several other people sets in.

What takes you out to San Diego?

Well, that sounds like the perfect little excursion to finally break the California streak. I look forward to hearing about your next out-of-state adventure, whenever that may be. I'm assuming you're planning on waiting another 22 years.
