from the Music Archives of Gumbo123 . . . I was listening thru some OLD stuff today and came across this which I thought you could appreciate.
Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley was Robert Palmer's debut solo album released in 1974. Recorded in New Orleans with several notable artists (Art Neville of The Neville Brothers on keyboards/ Lowell George of Little Feat with lead guitar/ George Porter Jr from The Meters on bass) lending a hand to this young "blue eyed soul" singer long before he hit the charts with more commercially successful tunes like Simply Irresistable, Addicted to Love, I Didn't Mean to Turn You On, etc.
I had it on vinyl back in the day and have always enjoyed how the progressing bass line ties together this three song medley. Enjoy!
Carol Kaye (born March 24, 1935) is an American musician, known as one of the most prolific and widely heard bass guitarists, playing on an estimated 10,000 recordings in a career spanning over 50 years
I'm not a musician, just an appreciator, so much of the technical stuff she gets into are way over my head, but I really enjoyed the story telling and listening to how many of the innovative riffs she came up with over the years have influenced the sound of both rock & roll legends and today's modern music.
I'll just leave it here for when you have the time to get into it. ENJOY!
There are thousands of other versions and many many bands, both well known and of the garage variety, have covered the song in every style imaginable over the past 50 years so I'll spare you sitting through the likes of Skid Row and TheCorrs and Ottmar Liebert and Popa Chubby(unless you just really want to dig deeper on your own), but you owe it to yourself to end the assignment with THIS ONE.
the prodigal son has returned. Hero of worlds is back and seems like time has passed. So... now that I'm back we should get talking we havent talked for a long time. message me up. let get talking. :D
One of my favorite singer / songwriters, he's done some really good stuff (ref: You'll Never Leave Harlan Alive) but I really was blown away by his picking style on this one today and just thought I would share. Enjoy!
Fellow Music Aficionado - - - while YT reminiscing today I stumbled upon an old favorite from wayback (1977) - - Mr. Rusty Wier from the STACKED DECK album, before he sold out a bit to more popular tunes following the Urban Cowboy trend. Enjoy!

MUSIC LESSON TIME!
I was listening to some old Dr. John and Leon Russell stuff today, which led into history on The Wrecking Crew (look it up ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkMDcuA_qTg ) and ended up spending an hour listening to this great interview with Carol Kaye . . . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carol_Kaye

Listen to all and decide for yourself . . . who did it better?
starting with the original:

Want to know how to become "THE WORLD'S BEST GUITAR PLAYER" or make a difference in anything you do?
STEP 1 - - identify those things you know you do not know.
STEP 2 - - learn how to do those things . . . or at least try.
